My mum of all people picked up a Stihl 041av for me when she saw it for $60. It's pretty clean, feels like there's decent compression, tank was empty, still had green vegetation in the clutch cover, air filters clean, hard nose bar 20" with a maybe filed oncr RS chain.

Haven't tried to run it yet but I'm hopeful. Even if it doesn't it'll give me something to tinker with when the firewood is split. It'll be fun to run with my 461 and my 311.

Started on the third pull. Low jet needed adjusted, idling andnreving great. High was okay, took up to 11,600 and cut like crap. Cuts best at 10800 wot, and about 8200 in the cut.

Less than a dollar a cc. Can't beat that. Too bad I can't run all of my saws at once

Mom's are protected on FHC, but you're not, so you win today's 'You Suck' award!

Nice catch! Is your mom a logger or does she just pay attention to you? :salute:

It's tingly compared to my modern saws. Even to my mid 80s 298xp and 281xp

Well, CAD is contagious, just follow the Chainsaw and Power Tool forum and you'll understand.

    That's awesome.

That's also the same $$ I paid for my MS250 about 4 years ago. I just hooked the killswitch wire back up, and away it went. I did treat it to a new plug & filter. Bar & chain were toast on it though - but oh well, I didn't mind.
