There's this old saying (many variations of Matthew 7:12)......"Do unto others, as you would have done to you". Follow that (unless you like others being nasty to you), and things just fall in line. Most of us......uh, um, self-regulate. Mostly. I think. Maybe. Then there's that Dave guy......take yer pick, there's a couple/few of 'em.
We vote on everything ( staff ) it’s a majority votes win. Politics is a no go... That we ALL agree on and with good reason...... What most have in common they didn’t read the rules or simply didn’t care about them. As for chances you would be amazed at how many chances we give folks. We do not enjoy banning anybody and are not here for a power trip. We do what we do to help others and through that FHC has grown into a true family forum and frankly many have become very good friends through this site not only online but in person too. Creepy eah!
Funny, we have ads on the radio around here for a place that does temp to hire for different companies and they have a whole speel on horrible bosses and people to work with that they name "Dave". They are actually pretty comical for a commercial. I'll have to see if I can find a link to them. Just poking fun of course, you had the picture, so I couldn't help myself
Some people just can't get over themselves. They are arrogant and rude and not nearly as smart or good as they think they are. They keep going on and on for a time . Then they either get the BANNED branding hammer smacked on their butt , or most people put them on Ignore. If members treat people nicely they will usually be treated the same.
one of the great things about this forum, is we try to be self-regulating. Because we realize the staff are volunteers, That do a great job! More than once I've gotten a private message, that said paraphrasing.. Heads up this could be taken wrong way.. Sometimes sarcasm is tough in the cyber world
Yes indeed! There are plenty of folks who don't get my deadpan, sarcastic sense of humor in person, let alone in a short post in writing. So, I've learned to tone it down some for the purposes of stuff like this. And when I read something that irritates me, I normally just move on rather than addressing it. Better for the old ticker than getting too excited about things.
Snow finally stopped but the wind never did bugger off. I think they're under rating the wind, as it's been steady at I'd guess 25-30 mph for hours with higher gusts I'm sure. Damper full, and air lever throttled right back and would still pull your cat up the chimney. My stack temp is 600 and that's as low as I can keep it. Thank God for the damper. -15 C feels -25 C or 5 F feels -14 F they say. Yeah right.
