Well, they're on my hill property behind my house and the only access I have to it is walking from my house or driving through the horse farm next door. Walking 300 yards down the hill with a round under each arm ain't an option.

As for the horse farm, even though I work there part time I can only drive there, per the owner, when it's powder dry or frozen solid.

We had a very wet spring so I couldn't get up there in the spring. We were gone most of the summer bicycle touring (my wife is a school teacher and I'm retired) so I couldn't get them then. Fall was wet and, as you can see, I've been busy with 'other things'.

I was hoping the ground would freeze this winter but it doesn't look like that's going to happen anytime soon, if at all. Sooooo....maybe late spring or just before we head off on bicycles this summer.

I don't 'need' the wood, I'm years ahead, but I don't want it to get punky so its got to get split soon. I may split and stack in place.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.:D

Great job dropping those ash trees. The 362 is a sweet saw. Love mine.

I could do that with the box elders I am dropping, but then it would be a giant cluster to deal with branch wise. I figure by dropping one at a time, I can make it easier to deal with brush, which my buddy will take care of with his boss' skid steer.

    Nice work Ralphie Boy

I need to go out and split dat ash I've got.

That wood will be fine. I'm sure you'll be able to get to it this winter. :)

If it was too wet to move, split where it sets so it can dry and not get punky.
