Get that young man some gloves his size. I hate slivers and so I always bought appropriate sized gloves, boots, hats and coats for my girls. My dad didn't believe in correct tools for kids. In my woodshop, each grandkid has their own safety glasses in the cabinet. I really am not a safety geek, but love working with my kids and grandkids. Also, the pile of kids gloves on my bench in the backporch is pretty cool (they all want their gloves where "Bop" puts his ((I'm Bop)). Oh, congrats on the addition, hope the Mrs. and baby are doing fine after their first woodhaul!!!!
There ya go, fixed it for ya. I think most of the vehicles now a days are pretty reliable. I did have a Chevy Tahoe before this though and that thing chewed through wheel bearings and window regulators like crazy. The new F-150’s are pretty sharp.
Helped out a elderly neighbor today who had a big maple limb come down in the wind last night. He was happy to have it cleaned up and I got some wood in exchange. My 372 is mounted to my mill so I took the 346 over and ran that. Love that saw. Have a 16” bar on it and it screams. Limbing was super fun and while I wish I had more bar for the bigger stuff it made out just fine. Not a bad haul for 90 minutes of work and another 60 of talking to old Bill. Guy loves to talk but I didn’t mind, learned some cool things about him and our neighborhood that I didn’t know.
Got some of that split and stacked today. Little note than a face cord. White oak and sugar maple, how sweet it is!
On their tuned editions of cars, including Lexus, as well. A TRD truck isn't designed to haul firewood. It's usually an off-road chassis and performance tune.
Which TRD package, on what vehicle ? Mine included a turbo-charger, a lift kit, Bilstein off-road suspension. and "stickers".
As far as I know, the supercharger never came on the Tacoma from the factory. It is a Toyota “TRD” part that was a dealer installed option and also available to buy and install yourself. The TRD sport edition had a non functioning hood scoop, color matched fenders and door handles, bigger wheels and yes, stickers, so it is a “appearance” package. The TRD off road had bilstein shocks, locking rear diff and different tires. Some of the new off road models have crawl control and some other off road features. My Tacoma is the sport edition. I installed old man emu shocks all the way around and a full Dakar leaf pack on it. It sits 3” higher and the leaf pack is a lot stiffer. Obviously it’s not a 3500 or anything but it can be loaded down pretty heavily now. TBH I used to load the crap out of it with the pitiful stock springs.
Thanks for the info, I think your truck looks good in the driveway with evidence you use it as a truck. I’m a Ford guy and with them any “off road” package is pretty much appearance only. Unless you buy a Raptor, but most all of them are garage queens. They cost so much most people don’t actually use them to their capibites.
Yep. You could get the supercharger for the 3.4 v6, not from the factory, but installed by toyota and full warranty. The new TRD packs on trucks and the sequioa and 4runner are pretty impressive packages. The fox shocks are very nice. Most trucks with off road packages are usually a slight lift, better shocks, full skid plates and lockers for axles. And then stickers. You don't need to buy a raptor to get the goodies.
