First real chance to get some run time on the a AWOL 562xp. I ran two tanks of fuel through it today, and I must say this thing kicks butt. I hope to tackle this Hickory next weekend. Cut up a couple Red Oaks today. They really weren't much of a chore for the 562xp. Really can't believe I've waited so long for a ported saw.
That there Hickory will break her in just right. I've got a pile of runners, & I'll usually grab the ported saws to run just because of what they can do & how they sound.
Awesome saw. I’m working on a sweet deal right now for a 562. Buddy of mine bought one because he thought he might get a wood stove but ended up going gas. He would of been fine with a homeowner saw but he likes shiny things. There’s been 3 tanks of gas ran through it. A sugi ,Oregon and stock bar. 6 brand new Stihl and Oregon chains and a storage box. He offered it up to me the other day for a steal, probably going to have to do it.
I already have a 346 and 372 so it would be kind of a odd ball saw that I don’t really need. What I do need is a 90cc or up saw for milling. So I may try to resell the 562 and use the money towards that. Anyone in the market? Thing is basically brand new.
Great looking saw. How big of bar do you figure I could swing with a ported 562? I maybe slightly interested if you get it. Again how big a bar if ported? When you move to Alaska, let me know your address. I will have to visit on one of my trips. And a question for Scotty Overkill or blacksmith , What size saw and bar length were you using at walt 's when milling?
Not trying to hijack your thread GrJfer but figure just post here real quick instead of a new post. So I went and picked up the 562 today. Man is it a clean saw. Going to have a hard time parting with it. Might have to send it out for some porting and keep it as a nice saw that only sees occasional duty, Still deciding. I’ll just toss up a few pictures of everything he included. (Molson canadiens not included)
So the workout continues. Been a little slow to get out lately, but it was nice today so I made the best of it. The AWOL 562xp is working on tank number 7, and getting nastier with each one. I about got this last Hickory blocked down.
