Yes, MI was also above average but not as bad as areas to our east and southeast.

This morning has been quite normal here. The green represents a decent rain and blues usually very light to maybe mist and sometimes nothing at all. The green area was much larger a bit ago and as it get up to Lansing (it's coming mainly from the south) then it peters out. Really quite normal here.

All I know is this was a very wet year, especially middle of the state where my parents live. I'm not even sure many farmers ran their pivots more than once or twice and it's very sandy/dry there.
I am hoping for a good snow-fall or two this winter, even though it stinks moving it at the time.

I've already given up on snow for this winter, that way there's no letdown when the forecast blows it again

Conveniently they left out Hawaii and Alaska. Maps of America that just show the 48 is why most Americans think Alaska is a foreign country. I love when I try to order something online and they say they ship in the US and then I get a email that they won't ship outside the US.

Yeah, it's raining here. It's going to be 1-2" of snow here later today, with 2/3 of an inch or so of rain before that. Just to the north of us, ours already ice, them snow. So it could be worse. Supposedly where my wood lotis, they are too get 2-4" of snow, and that's not even a half hour or 20 miles away north a little but more West.

Which means that we are essentially the highest that you can go, just like Pennsylvania and the couple of other states at 124 in the darkest green. I bet with this rain we've gotten in December we are at the worst.

There's the use of the phrase "Continental US".

As far as Hawaii, I'd be shocked if it wasn't well at the top too. While it was dry all but 1 day when I was on Maui in November you can tell there had been a lot of rain in recent months.

Alaska looks to be pretty much on the "normal" side for rain.

Funny thing with the term Continental US is they have dropped the "Continental" part and its just the US now.

I’m halfway between Philly and AC. AC has their rainiest year on record at a little over 66”. Philly may hit their record today/tonight with around 64” or so. I can’t get sh*t done!

Trump administration is planning to give Alaska back to the Russians and clearly an Island surrounded by so much ocean can't be US territory right?

    Sorry. I couldn't resist.:D

I can sympathize with your continental problem...when we went to Alaska a couple of years ago, many many people we met and talked to said getting anything shipped to Alaska was the biggest downside to living there. Even in Juneau they said 'we all have amazon prime' and rely on it to get most everything beyond food and furniture.

    Update: still pouring here.

Hawaii eh? I would love to see it some day.

Doesn't the big island have a wet side, and a nearly arid almost desert side? Due to the height of the Volcano I would expect that the clouds get pumped dry before getting forced over the peaks.

Twice in the last four years we have had water levels rise up north at the cabin severly- 6-10 feet, due to severe downpours. This is a three and a half mile long lake...none of the family can recall this ever happening in the past 75 years that it's been in the family.

We just went to Maui. It was my first time to Hawaii, but my wife has been there a lot though. From what I understand, the further north you go in the island chain, the rainier it is, I think with the volcano, you have different microclimates. I also heard that even a few miles further to the north of where we were staying, in kapalua, that it gets rainier. That makes sense as Lahaina was fully sunny the one day it was lightly raining when we were at the condo. Our condo was less than 8 miles north of Lahaina.

Must be a millennial thing, because, as we've seen, shipping and prices go up or are not available when you leave the continental US. ;)

Started out with sleet this morning and then changed over to light snow. We may get 1-3 inches if we are lucky. Hope everyone on the FHC site has a very Blessed and Happy New Year.:handshake:
