I just took a set of these Michelins, 265 75 x 16, off my Tacoma. After 45k miles they turned into Maypop Bald Eagles! They have a 70k. Tread mileage warranty, so I did get a couple hundred in an adjustment credit towards a new set of tires. I went with the Cooper Discover AT3 265 75 x 16 just because of the price difference. Christmas and other expenses due at the time you know.

I've never had Coopers before this, I've always bought Michelin. The day after purchasing them we drove the truck from Rabbit Hash, KY to Chatham, NY and back, about 1700 miles total. The Coopers were quit and smooth and did fine in the rain and a slight bit if snow. However, I did notice a bit of a drop in fuel mileage over the Michelins. Probably because of the more aggressive tread pattern.

    Time will tell.....

Those Cooper's are great tires. The drop in mpg could also be attributed to the winter blend gas, which don't get as good of mpg.

I've had multiple sets of Coopers. One was the STT mud terrains (on the Jeep), the other was an S/T which was on my truck when I bought it. I was always very happy with them, especially the STT's. They do very very well off-road aired down on rocks and in mud. I'll bet you'll end up liking them a lot.

Boy, I hate to hear your Michelins wore out at 45,000. Doing the math from factory specs to what is on my truck now, I should do better, but I have found that you can never plan on that-have had tires wore out over night it seems.
If I have to replace them, I'll probably go with the Coopers had the STs on my 2004 Tundra-had them for 30,000 miles as winter only tires, and then another 20,000 running year round.

I'm running the largest 16" possible without a suspension lift kit, on that year, 2010, Tacoma. That in its self could be at least part of the blame. I still run Michelin on the RAV 4 and they are going strong.

If you don’t plan on off roading but still want a great all season tire that performs awesome in the snow (snow rated) I recommend Bridgestone advantage TA sport lt I have them on my 1500 they look awesome, great in snow like a snow tire, quite and they’ll upgrade your handling. For a basic value tire I run firestone transforce lt (run em on my 3500 dump) they are not snow rated however they are a decent all around tire. I love my bridgestones because they perform so well in the snow, like dedicated snow tires without having to swap em out in the winter and spring.
