Wow... these days, nearly everything runs on AA or even AAA, with the advent of LED lights...
Yours should be able to jump start your car!!!

They kept promising it would get in the 40's this afternoon. I almost didn't clean up the ice that dumped off my roof onto the ramp. Glad I did since the high was 33*, it is still 33* (and rain is still freezing on contact), and they said on tonight's news that it probably won't get much warmer, if at all, because those MA**holes have stalled the warm air down their way ;)

Yeah, right - not thinking so where I am at. Well, hopefully they are right about the precipitation ending

They're actually saying the sun is going to come out up here. I hope so, I'm tired of sliding down the driveway.

33* most of the day yesterday, low of 32 last night, 33 right now. Everything is very slick so I'll have to go out and sand later.

Shot up to 45* over night really queer but I'll take if for sure, going on a pellet run then help the Mrs. and my Sis clean out there space as the owner is shutting down and everything has to go back to their shop. Was hoping to grab some Logik-E softies but seems PD sold out during the week, I have never tried them and wanted to check them out as I have heard good things about them. So on the hunt to try something different just because I can't help myself , yep yep you all are directly responsible for my affliction ! Hope your all proud of yourself :D

It's 40° here right now... I'm sure you will be above freezing today... with some sun...
It'll be so warm you'll want to ride your bike...
    (well... maybe not that warm..)

Not with an icy driveway. I'll have to go take care of that ice later - assuming the sun stays out long enough that below turns to water (not a certainty since it is on the WNW side of the house and a lot of it stays in shadow all day).

Got some laundry done, dishes taken care of and vacuumed for about an hour. Have been able to open the stairs up so now have the litter box downstairs. Which means that I could use precision screwdriver to dig out cat litter granules from between the hardwood seams. I'm sure I'll be cleaning up cat litter in the living room for weeks, but I've got a good start on it.

Getting ready to eat my banana-walnut scrambled eggs (basically banana bread without flour and with a bit of cream) for breakfast then a shower is in order. Then a dump run and then we'll see what happens.

It was bad here too, a solid 3/8" of ice on -everything-, sigh.
Tried putting salt / sand on the walkway, just washed right down, or got covered in more ice, :headbang:.

Waited until it warmed up after 8pm, and helped the melting some.. Finished off one tank, used about 1/2 of the second 20 gal. propane tank.. Propane refill run today. HF torch still working excellent!

I'm building a Ice Boat for next time. ... Or a tobaggan or luge, I want to be competitive. :D

B - we spread stove ash on the driveway, helps melt the icy parts here w/ the sun.. Gotta get back out there now to do.

Have a fun day all!

Left the house at 6:30 this morning to go do food shopping. Was only 33 out. Lots of icy patches on Rt 111 all the way to Rt 28 in salem. Temp indicator in the rav 4 was bouncing all over the place 33 to 38 to 34 to 37. When I got out of market basket is was 40, is 44 now. never got anywhere near the mid-50's yesterday that was forecasted.

Have low gas prices at every place on Rt 111 ($2.13 to 2.19). get on 28 in salem and they're all $2.59.

We ran the first bucket of shells crushed by the little green machine only last night in the Big Whit.. OH YEAH BUDDY.
The big Whit handled those great.... So today we will run the same stuff through thre Little Whit and see how it likes them.

I will be very happy to not have to crush this stuff twice...

With the 24 more barrels we scored the other day we are set now to get a lot of the half shells into storage.

I am snapping lotsa pix of the little green crusher, so if need be I can build one like it for us....
I can see some areas of improvement.

That sounds pretty much how my weather has been.

You got a warm up last night? Sweet for you - this time it helped being at a little altitude. Those of us in the valley got 3-4 hours of warm up when the sun rose this morning.

Got up to 45 about an hour ago - and clouds started racing in. I scraped what ice I could off the driveway and went to the dump and hardware store. Just got back and the temp is already going down - at 43 right now.

I don't use ashes on the driveway - almost impossible to get out of asphalt (sand is bad enough) and I don't want to track it into the house.

Got some sub zero weather coming.Had to plow for an out of town neighbor yesterday,so wanted to finish cleaning the Integra.Only used it a few times last winter, but had lazy flame, black glass.Had gutted it 2 days ago,and cleaned, was not really dirty.I have to remove the small front panels,to get to the nuts holding the inside plates on(yea,I have new weld nuts, just have not got around to dragging a welder into the basement, always forget in summer),so,cleaned the glass, lit it,went to shut door,HUH,the adjustable door post was looses, lol.Adjusted and tightened it,has been running 3 hours, back to being a heat monster!.May run that one overnight,as it heats the basement,it also heats 4 ton of pellets, great for sub zero weather.I did notice 2 of the glass are a bit loose, and have very slight streak, gonna have to order gaskets, but,it is perfectly useable rest of winter.
