Now I don’t feel so bad. Square, level and plumb are hard things to come across here.

Saw an older lady get hit by a young kid in a pickup when I was taking my wife lunch today. I was at the stop bar behind the crosswalk as the light was red when I approached. She was in the crosswalk walking to the west at an intersection. The truck was eastbound, turning north (left). I think he was trying to beat the light making his left turn pretty fast. It wasn't a direct hit, more of a glancing blow. She was hit by the front corner of his bumper, fender, passenger side mirror and had muddy tire marks from the sidewalls.

I called 911 after myself and another vehicle blocked anyone else from hitting her as she layed in the middle of the street in the crosswalk. The dispatcher said they already had calls. I then called my cousin who was on duty and he said he was on his way. Deputy who was driving a transport van passed and pulled into the Sherriff dept and got a car and returned and blocked traffic til my cousin arrived. The S.O. is within 200 feet of the intersection.

Lady had blood pouring from her nose, left side of head near her ear. Husband was at the DMV and came out just after it happened. Lady couldn't open her rt eye, was very unstable as people helped her off to the side of the road. (They ignored me telling them not to move her).
She was transported to the local hospital, I pray she's OK.

Kid has a history of reckless operation citations and speeding tickets. He was more worried about his tax return going towards the cost of hitting her.

I need to write a statement and send it to my cousin tonight.

Hard to "like" that. Good for you helping to block traffic. Shame on the people moving her. I have recently been thru Accident Scene Management and First Aid classes and both said not to move people unless they were in further danger if not moved. Of course, if SHE wanted to move, you don't restrain her, just try to talk her out of it.

    Hope she is relatively okay!

Caffeine going in. Slept in a little on my day off. Hoping to do some outside work today, but a little later on. After it warms up a bit. Zero out there right now. I’ll run out and plug the tractor in and let it heat up a few hours. Maybe do a few things inside for a while until it warms up a bit.

Well, we went and moved firewood for Mom yesterday. Our English cousin who is here for Christmas - it was her first time doing anything with firewood. So far she has experienced a three day no power experience with campinspecter's sister, moving firewood with us, experiencing lots of rain and saw a humpback whale on Christmas morning. Life is going to be boring when she gets back to university in a week.

Happy birthday to the meme master!

7 days into my vacation and I finally got to do some of the work I set out to do. Christmas took up 6 days so far! I finally made it into the woods and started cutting up the big white oak that blew over in the wind storm Halloween 2017. Gonna have to wheelbarrow it out of the woods. Gonna take a while.

My new wedding ring is turning my finger and pinkie knuckle black:eek:. I wore my original set over 10 years straight, never took it off, it stayed on whether I was doing dishes, showering, even gardening, regardless of it was exposed to it never turned my finger black. I had a gold ring with a pearl on my right hand that I LOVED! Lost the pearl during the wildfire evacuations, it's somewhere in the RV park showers  so I quit wearing it. I put that ring sans pearl back on today to see if idk maybe my body chemistry changed or something? I wonder if the harder water here might affect it? Oh, and I wonder about the Dawn dish soap I use, it could likely be a lot stronger than back then with my orig wedding set. I think the imprint says 14K and pretty sure my set from 1993 is too.
