Santa came early this morning. 16 cord of maple. Delivered price to our yard, CAD$120/cord (USD$88) Another 16 coming. And then there's a meeting this afternoon to get much, much more. Preparing for 2019-2020!

$400+ we don’t see bucked wood for sale often. I have not seen split wood for sale here in town.

What we normally see is a short bed pickup load of logs for $200. Not staked and the outside logs not higher than the bed rails. Stacked higher towards the center of the bed. I am being generous by calling that a 1/2 cord.

That’s a nice looking load of maple. Are you heating multiple houses or do you sell some?

That’s pretty steep pricing:). Do you cut on your own land or public with a permit?

I cut on state land, up to this year it was free and first come, no shortage of wood. This year the are charging $10 a cord and you get a GPS section that no one else is supposed to cut on. The state maintains the forestry road by keeping it plowed. Not like they are taking of us. Couldn’t pay someone that little to plow miles of forestry roads.

There is a local logger that lives down the road from me. I bought a load a few years ago from him. I haven't bought lately but I'm assuming he's still selling and it's about the same. There's too much laying around to buy right now.

I can find out if he's selling and get you his number if you'd like. I dont know if he'd deliver that far or not.
