Get fiberglass. With light use it will last a lifetime.

I still tear up the fiberglass mauls after a few years, the resin either breaks up or the actual handle will eventually break off right at the head.

The Fiskars ax and maul seem to be doing much better.

Got a light snow cover overnight. Will it be a white Christmas or a wet Christmas this year?

Thanks for the lobster advice, I've (we've) never seen a live one out here, probably never will again but we know better if we do. He's frozen :)

Had to reschedule Christmas with Dad and his wife, not much snow but the 9000ft summit was icy and having blowing snow whiteouts. Next weekend instead!

I'm stuck at the mall with my wife and the unwashed masses. Some reason she was adamant that it would be just as busy at 8am tomorrow as it would be at 7pm :headbang:

    Ha, doubt it!

We went to the mall last night for pics with santa. Our mall was busy for it, but nothing like those big city malls. That's like th only reason we go to the mall, everywhere else will ship to you. So many places have free shipping including returns now a days. Even if you have to pay to return, it's way easier to order a bunch of stuff in sizes you think you need, have them send it, try it on and send back what you don't want. Often times the return shipping is as much or cheaper than the gas to get to the store in the first place. Plus you don't have to deal with crowds.

Wow, most guys would be making plans to build the Taj-garage if they got an opening like that!

I bought the wood handled one since it was so cheap awhile back.

I do have a fiberglass (?) handled one from husqvarna when I bought the chain saw in 85 or 85. That thing has been great!

I'm the saver...she's the spender (although she is not a out of control spender...just more "free" with it than I am)

I managed to get a few things done off the list and a few things that weren’t on the list. And tire my arse out being out in that cold! Ready for bed , but that will have to wait. Oldest, recently married daughter and her hubby to be here any minute!

I have know idea how I aligned that!

Well, I'm getting close to done. I need to get my mom something. Shes extra difficult because her birthday is tomorrow too. Then a grab gift for tomorrow night.

Gonna hit the grocery store as soon as my coffee is done, and the stove is dialed back. I can only imagine what a zoo that will be later.

Oh yeah, I had two things planned for this week away from work. Cleaning up the shop that became a dumping ground when we moved in, and finally cutting up the big oak that is sitting next to the road on our neighborhood access road since last spring. It even has a bonus big birch that fell next to it.

With the warm temps and all the rain, the ground partially thawed, and it's now a giant mess just walking on it. Hopefully the ground will freeze long enough that I can get the splitter out of the yard and I'll just process out front.

I hope the mud doesn't freeze the trunk to the ground.
