Ended up snowing here today. Not much, just enough to shovel (push snow) off the deck.

Temps are supposed to fall from now until Saturday morning....lots of wind too. Might have to put more than 5 splits in the boiler every 24 hours.

Still 41F here, loaded some small Oak splits in the boiler. Kinda waiting for Winter to come back & harden up the ground. Looks kinda crappy the next few days & very little chance of a white Christmas. Oh well.

Did a little cutting after work, I am keeping a snow machine and sled, plus gear there. Took me about 45-60 minutes to get the truck loaded. 507C5729-7A19-4A9B-BC84-3E6ACF5D7D99.jpeg 0D9B844C-9C73-49CE-8673-AEA60B08D19B.png

Not bad temp wise today, just more rain. Low 50's, OT, went down to the shop and cut more pallet frames up. Had an idea from here about SS wood. I have some tulip poplar that is probably 5-6 yrs old that I use in the papa bear, 22-23" long, brought some in and cut it in half on my big saw. Burned great in my stove at home. Got some oak I may try later. IMG_20181220_114800619.jpg IMG_20181220_130704174_TOP.jpg

35 feels like 26 and ice everywhere. Part of the turnpike is closed because of accidents. Not a great first date of winter! We’re nice and cozy at 76 this morning and waiting for the sun to come up. The temperature is supposed to get into the 50’s then until tomorrow afternoon. I put a couple splits of pine in to keep things going until late morning. The plan is to let it go out for a little maintenance tomorrow morning. They’re predicting 50mph+ winds this afternoon and tonight with wide spread power outages so that might have to wait. The heat pump will keep us warm unless the power goes out. Stay safe out there! I’m thankful my wife can work from home this morning.

38° right now, but supposed to reach 60° with high winds and heavy rain for the evening rush hour. I have to babysit in Malden today, so will be able to give a first hand report on how s*cky a drive it is. At least no ice like Maina has.
I got some cutting and more splitting done yesterday, but my chain was getting kinda dull. I've asked my husband to sharpen it ( he's really good at it) and I'll get back at it on Saturday.

Be careful on the roads Midwinter! Even without the ice I’m sure there’s a few crazies out there.

Current temp 41°F with freezing rain. The winds are whipping, expected to climb in temperature today and staying above freezing overnight.

About 33 and misting rain. Pine, a big piece of Cherry, and Ash in the boiler.

It is a mess out there! 40s yesterday thawed things out and then a good amount of rain all through last night. Some more rain and could possibly hit 50 today.o_O I’ll be glad when it freezes back up.

Traffic was pretty light going down, so made it pretty quick.

21 feeling like 10 now. Still mild for us, but not above that "hard water" number!

Been raining all night on top of some snow, which made walking out there quite.....interesting. Light snow coming down now, and we're at 34 OAT going to 35.
No fire last night, so I set the t-stat at 65 and went to bed (we prefer cooler sleeping temps). Furnace ran a few times this morning, but I may start a small fire soon. 66 IAT right now.
Weird weather so far this "winter".

Morning everyone, enjoy the shortest day of the year. Happy to be gaining some daylight tomorrow. We sure do go through batteries with the headlights this time of year. C1AF131F-413C-4FCD-A5A8-DE34588A0FE4.png 4AD0CC9A-8566-474A-B2C1-1BC71DA1B5DA.png

It's 41F outside & raining here in my neck of the NH woods. Plenty of wood on the deck & inside. Good day for a nice hot soup or stew.
