My first ported saw 026 is from huskihl had him port my 261. I use the 261 the most, I need to get him one of my 036’s. I use the 261 more than the others combined. Toting a saw in snow over knee deep, is not any fun. Those big heavy saw will wear you plumb out. A 036 will make a good addition to the ported saws.

I had my stihl dealer do a few of them for me. Was worth me not having too, whatever the angles from his Zieglemier is they are decent . But I have a few from dall, now he makes awesome square grind. Dallas may be willing to work his magic and convert some.

Tom, she is a wise lady. Just think about what could happen sometime. You might get sick or injured or whatever and can't cut when you really need to but with wood in the shed, you have that covered. I'd think this would be especially so in Alaska. Think strongly about the 3 year plan. It is not all about drying the wood although that certainly is a part of it. More than once it has saved my skin.

Yeah. I've considered this too but so far have not done anything.

I have been working towards those wise words. I am realizing I am not 18, 10 foot tall or bulletproof. I have only been concerned with being a few months ahead. Some old military injuries that are raising their ugly head, is changing my way of thinking.

I am learning too. In the chain saw section posted at the top is the square file thread (lots of info) instead of the inside of the chain being round its square. Off of the inside corner, like two wood chisel placed on the corner that makes a 90*. Round is better for dirty wood, square cuts faster and the sharpness lasts longer.

Been googling since I posted. Interesting. Can you buy them to size or do you need to order a roll? I would like to try one.

Speed reader. No, I just had time to watch the first videos. Sorta busy lining up a hog for butchering just after Christmas. Real science to that there, I will read the whole thing. Looks like your bar in a vise and tight chain would be a good place to start.

The exact amount of drivers are same, the difference is the way it’s sharpened. You should be able to find the amount of drivers on the bar.
