I'm debating about going with a pad, 150w heating pad that adheres to the tank. I'm not so sure the magnetic ones would transfer the heat as well versus the pad.
I don't think it being permanently attached will be an issue, shouldn't be hard to tie up the cord out of the way when moving it or splitting.
The 150 is rated for 5 -10gallons of fluid if I remember the specs now.

I personally like pads over magnetic. The cord can be zip tied out of the way. I run pads on trucks, side x side, wheelers and snow machines. If you bring the splitter out of the yard, have to be careful that sticks don’t get the cord. Not sure how much you use the pads. Place it on the bottom of the tank, for best results and as close to the inlet hose that brings fluid to the pump.

Sorry I have not upgraded to synthetic yet, all is ready for the change over. Will update when done, I have off Tuesday and Wednesday may try then to get it done.

Mom and I split the wood we harvested yesterday. We cut 2 standing dead spruce. Was a pleasure using the splitter, we normally don’t worry about having c/s/s wood. We left log length, cut and brought in as needed. We have about 3+ cords in the barn, 5 or so in logs. Mom enjoys have some wood in the bank. She wants to get to where we have a winters worth coming into fall. 4CFE179D-6C03-4078-B796-F19B2BD16772.jpeg 952CCB4F-CD6B-44A6-939A-74C86FB85389.jpeg

It’s so easy not to be far ahead, with fire killed, standing dead we don’t have to cut green wood.

Don’t let my wife know how much the forum has helped. Have bought 6 saws in two years, 3 of them are ported. Make my own loops of chain now, I buy the 100 foot rolls(saves $$$$). Now I am looking at buying a square grinder.

Working OT this past summer, I only had 7 cords coming into fall. Now that the river is frozen I can access my wood lot.

Rope those ported saws and square ground chain. Will save you time! That you can then spend with your children enjoying Alaska. That's a win!

I have been using square chain for 2 seasons now. It’s amazing cutting with some buddy’s that use round chain mostly dull. With sharp square and ported 261 I can cut 3 to 1 rounds over a 044. James gets so mad it’s funny. Let him use it, calls it the devil saw now. He won’t try my 461MMWS, he’s scared .

I had made loops for a few friends. They are amazed how much quicker it cuts and how much longer it stays sharp.

I am looking hard at the simington 451c.

Hahaha! Love it, got a couple guys that won't run my ported 044 from MMWS either. It's round ground chain, but cuts pretty good. Haven't let anybody play with the other 2 ported saws yet. I kinda watch who I let run my stuff. Some are safe, some not so much.

The 461 sounds so angry cutting, such wonderful music.

The grinder I am looking at.

Did you buy the 044MMWS that Kevin was selling? I would let buddy’s run my ported saw, not many of my friends.

Yeah, you're not helping me here Rope Cole aka Armbru84 runs square chain & it's way faster. I'm looking into switching over too, but I've got a crap ton of chains for my saws & it would cost some real coin plus the grinder to switch over. Stay tuned. :faint:

I did, nice saw, clean & good shape. Good runner! MMWS/Randy does good work, but my 026 & 036 huskihl ported saws run just as well. It's nice having someone in the same state that does excellent work!

You can convert the round grind into square grind. I was in the same boat, and have converted all my to square file, but I want the grinder. To keep it trued.

Yep, I know it, just gotta take the time to learn. The amount of time spent = $$$ around here. In due time I think it'll happen. Might be time for few days "off".
