The dump is installing big hoop shelters over the recycling area. Before, the Chinese took it all, so they didn't care if it got soggy. Now the Chinese have stopped taking it, and they have to pay someone to accept it. So less soggy = lower weight = cheaper to dispose of. IMG_20181217_56496.jpg
They have the front fabric cover installed, figured I'd snap a pic before the top goes on.

there was a dealer just a couple blocks from my shop , they advertised a unit on CL at an exteremly good price that I happen to be looking at that time. took a copy of the cl ad with me just in-case. right off the bat bate & switch, then said i must have read ad wrong- pull it out of pocket , begrudgingly they went with ad's price so we get down to the dollars exchanging hands, won't accept cash nor a company or personal check only credit card for down payment- didn't want no down payment, I was there with cash in hand ( real green backs) and why should I have to chase to the bank to get a draft.? any way I walked. They called the next day- no thanks.

Meeting my Dad & wife for Christmas this saturday in Cheyenne, they have stores there, what's a good place to pick up cheap gloves for kiddo? I know they have a target and a kohls there. I recall telling Canadian border VT , I bought 4 pairs of gloves on clearance for kiddo last summer. She's down to 1 pair (mittens), and 1 single glove already  Going to sharpie her initials all over these new pairs :dex:

That seems to be the case with most classes of our species....sadly.

On another note I punched a hole in the truck...

All the chatter about car sales makes me think about some of the problems I've had. Three times I went to a dealer and it was almost like pulling hen's teeth to get a chance to drive the car. So I made up my mind that from that point on, if they didn't want me to drive, goodbye! Then we went to a dealer in Saginaw and they had a van we wanted but had never tried one. Asked to take it for a drive. Guy got the key and got in and started it. I stood there waiting for him to get out but he said, "Hop in and I'll give you a drive." I said, "Okay" and wife and I simply walked to our car. He came running and could not figure out why we were leaving. So for kicks I told him why we were leaving and he still couldn't understand it.

Another thing that bothers me is having to get my driver's license before I can drive the car. I remember one year running into this. The car we were looking for was around $10,000. But only a week before we had drove a $100,000 motor home and all they knew was my first name! Oh yeah, I bought the motor home but not the car...

Then there are the idiots who don't want to tell you the price of the car; they only want to work on the payment. What? I don't go to buy a payment. I go to buy a car. I've walked out on more than one dealer who would not tell me how much he wanted; only wanted to work on how much payment I could afford. That is one thing that really bugs me too is when people try to sell things by telling you how much a payment will be. Or new car dealers only wanting to tell you how much the payment is to lease the car. I just write those jerks off.

Talked to a surgeon this morning. Still having some problems with the surgical area from that one I had last year around Thanksgiving time. Will be having a cat scan.

Filled up with gas. .10 to .12 per gallon difference in price between two towns.

And On The Other Side Of The Desk:
I walk into the dealership. Tell the salesperson what I want and how much I intend to pay.
Salesperson says "don't think we can do that. I'll run it buy my manager." He leaves and returns several minutes later with a counter offer.
"No I told you what I intended to pay."
"I'll talk to the manger and see if we can het a better price."
More ars time in the chair. Salesperson returns with a better offer.
Me: "Aren't you the salesperson? Sounds as if I am dealing with the manager and not you. You might as well bring him out."
Salesperson leaves to get me a better deal. I get up and leave.
Salesperson calls on phone and asked where I went. "If you don't want to sell me a truck I will go else where." "Comeback in. I think we can do the deal" "No thank you. You had your chance. Besides I already bought the truck I wanted."
And Dave this happen in 1993 at the Dodge dealership in Wooster. Left the dealership and drove to Dodge in Millersburg. Told the sales person what I wanted and the same truck was sitting on the lot in Wooster. Struck the deal I proposed in Wooster and picked it up a few days later with out the BS.
I am starting to think about a new truck, but hate to participate in the games.
I guess the games are played in both directions.

I have a broken light bulb in the kitchen. Tried needle nose pliers. I do not have potatoes. Any advice as this breaker kills most of the house?

I tried two rubber insulated handle pliers, one needle nose and the other long tapered, no luck, just tore up the base of the light bulb.

Have to admit, I posted this here months ago that the light bulb blew up when I turned it on, and its still out.

Part Polish, ya ya, family gathering jokes my entire childhood. Hmmm, maybe true. Except my Italian/French cannot change the darn light bulb either

How do I get this darn thing out??

The power really should be turned off when using the potato trick...they conduct electricity.
Try taking the cap off a empty 1 or 2 liter pop bottle, sticking the bottle threads up into the bulb base and twisting CC with upward pressure...you may need to heat the threaded part of the bottle up a bit to soften it, make it conform to the inside of the bulb base.
If that doesn't work, hot glue the pop bottle to the inside of the base...it'll come out.
