Well, as a former "used car salesman" I can tell you this...about 90% of customers are lying dirtbags! I did a year at a Ford dealership, that was terrible...it was so rare to have someone be straight up and honest with you about their situation, it didn't take long for me to be highly motivated to be outta there!
So I went to work for a buddy selling used pickups...3/4 and 1 tons mainly. That was much better...at first. Our typical customers were farmers, construction guys, a few good ole boys...but once diesels started to catch on with, well...EVERYBODY...then here comes the lying dirtbags again...I got out, ain't going back either!

    Car vending machine...

Caffeine, finally! Spent an hour this morning finishing chains on front tires of the M59. My good neighbor/friend helped me out again. Can’t wait to try them out. One more day of work and then seven off! Wife and kids in school and I’ll be in the woods cutting firewood and hopefully opening up a new trail. Can’t wait!:tractor::saw: D154FD81-8553-46B7-96D6-47EEC8CB570C.jpeg 223FDF5D-C717-444D-A77D-26ABB7D89A5F.jpeg

And to add to this, my buddy that owned the used truck dealership stayed at it another 10 years or so after I left, but things got so bad that he finally closed the place down and moved out of state...he still is a "dealer", but only works on the wholesale side of things, makes a retail sale to friends and family once in a while, that's about it. He said if he had to go back to retail automotive sales, he would rather be a greeter at Walmart

i am to the point that when I buy a used what ever I figure 1/2 of what i payed for it will be need for repairs in the first 6 mo. Frankly buying private has been a better deal than any thing from a dealer in the last 15 years.

I usually buy privately too...once in a while I buy from one of several friends still in the business. The last one was the wife's van, from a guy on CL, I thought it was a private sale, but it turned out he had a dealers license, just to peddle a few vehicles on the side...his main gig was a detail service.
He bought this van and gave it to his wife to drive...but I think they quickly realized that it had some electrical issues...he advertised it for sale cheap, but didn't mention the electrical problems...but no matter, I found them, I decided to take a gamble on it, but things were worse than I realized once I got it home...fortunately, it was all caused by a bad control module that I was able to replace for $65. The right taillight was cracked and filled up with water...I think that is what took the control module out. Been an excellent vehicle ever since!

Red and red go well together....had a mild day yesterday, a lot of snow melted. Barely below freezing today but with the wind chill it's hand numbing freezing.....just about literally, I had to wait a few minutes to be able to drive after getting in the truck

Tractor is 4 wheel drive. But with R-4 Industrial tires you end up with slipping a lot in snow and mud. I’ll be using the M59 for snow removal, firewood retrieval for next year, and trail work all winter. These chains should make a big difference.

And what lying would they be doing? This sounds strange to me. Either they want a vehicle or not...

Didn't get on forum yesterday but instead went to a gtg. Weather was absolutely fabulous. Clear blue sky and temperature soared to around 40 for a short time. No wind until after noon but then was only a light wind. Good food, good bullsessions, good saws and great people. Here are a few pictures:

Our good friend Armbru84 abusing a log. If you look closely right behind him you can barely see Lake Mi in the distance.

I love the grain in this and it would make a beautiful end table! 101_0312.JPG

Armbru84 and cus_deluxe ready to go head to head with a race. You can tell by the way they were dressed it was warm. 101_0320.JPG
And to show how calm it was, here is a quick shot of Lake Michigan at Frankfort, MI. What a beautiful day it was. (You can see someone out on the pier.)

Dennis, is that locust? If so, I've never seen one that big. Bugs or wind usually take them out around here. A lot of them turn into leaners.

Saying things like they lost their job, I'm in this range....I talked to Hendrix Honda down the road and they quoted me X price on the lot today and I can buy from them...when in reality they havent.

I say this, I have not ever bought a new car but bought 2 used at dealers and have never sold cars. CarMax is good cause there is no haggle. One is from there. I also bought from a smaller dealer lot near me when I bought the Sequoia. Guys were brothers, they seemed honest and straightup. I ended up with a deal I was happy with.

Interesting, couldn't see the drive to the tire, thats why I was thinking it was two wheel drive. But I couldn't figure out why you of all people would have went for 2 wheel drive... Since you actually use your tractors... So how are the front tire driven?

There is a drive shaft that goes from transmission to the front axle. That drives the front tires. If you look close at inside of tire you can see the mechanical housing that holds/hides the shafts and gears.
