My wife and I took the dogs into Petsmart for pictures with Santa. Tonight we area taking our friends to dinner for dog sitting our pups while we were in Hawaii. Their son is a waiter at the place were are going, so he'll get a nice tip as well. I know the son helped out with the dog sitting as well.

My grandmother turns 90 on Christmas eve. The family had a surprise party for her today at a local Chinese restaurant, Kowloon for the locals. It never ceases to amaze my wife when she sees my entire family together. It looked more like a small wedding than a birthday. All 6 of her children, 17 out of 20 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, then all the spouses...and that was just the immediate family!

I love the Kowloon! Sounds like you filled up the place, lol. Congrats to Grandma. Is she still with it?

Most times our repair man comes and fixes something on washer or dryer it between $75-$150. We have had one time cost us $210 I think. But each one of those times led to several more years of use and many, many loads being cleaned. With five of us in the house and everyone doing some kind of sports/workout/outdoor labor/etc we do a lot of laundry.

I've never really been a fan of Kowloon, my wife loves it though.

She is definitely still doing quite well. My grandfather passed a year and a half ago, she has been living by herself since.

It's official. The world has lost its mind. Today I saw a vending machine for cars. Real life cars.

I'm 40. Born in 1978. Raised by old school parents. I suddenly feel old AF.

Are today's people that scared of a face to face transaction? Good god...

On a happy note, happy birthday wildwest

Dryness is partly a factor. Red cedar has a higher silica content that wears blades and cutters quicker.

As a salesman myself, I will say this.....most car salesmen are the scum of the earth. I would 100% welcome a non interactive car buying experience if I dont have to play their games to get a fair deal.

I've herd of them but instantly disregarded them. Thought it was some sort of joke.

I mean, think about getting a car for a quarter............

Windy, rainy this morning. campinspecter is headed off to our daughter's for her community Christmas choir concert tonight. He has five hours driving and I think he is taking the chainsaw in case there is a tree down. The supervisors and I are headed over to Mom's if the ferry is running this morning. It is dark out there!

Exactly! I really hate spending 3 hours of my life (or more) trying to get a decent deal once I'm at a dealership - on top of the hours of research I put into it to begin with. And, since I am a woman, it is usually worse so I may have to go to several dealerships before I can get someone who actually thinks I have a brain. I try to do it by email but everyone wants you to "come in" to actually talk any numbers. Yeah, the reason I am doing email is because I don't want to come in until I'm fairly sure I want to do business with you. They know they have you there, its much easier to get a commitment.

And who in the world started up this gol danged "document fee"????

A dealer here is up to 500 now. I asked him what is this? After the answer, I said let me get this straight. I am buying a car from you for (enter price) and then on top of that, have to pay you another 500 just to be able to pay you the agreed price????

First lie from a dealer - I got an email from a dealer claiming the following, "Thank you for contacting Truecar regarding your interest in a Fiesta. We just tried to call you at (603) 123-4567 and left you a voicemail." Um, no you didn't. Have no missed calls nor voicemails. Is it possible you dialed the incorrect number? yes, but not probable since that is most likely an automated system that dialed the number at a click of the button. And yes, they had the number correct in the email. Oh, and you really try to call a household at 7:37 on a Sunday morning? (time of email) Seriously, how dumb do you think I am?

I (we) had three Holiday dinner events in less than a weeks time. Coupled with 99's baking (and my eating).

There is now 6 1/2 pounds more of yooper to me! :picard: That's a lot in one week........

    You were right rottiman
