Pleasantly surprised to get some time on the splitter with no rain. Started on the second pile this afternoon. I think I’m going to have to replace the valve for the splitter as it is leaking a bit. It is runnable but I ordered a new one last night.
If I collect the hydraulic fluid in a clean container when I change the valve is it okay to reuse it?[IMG][IMG]

Nice pile and as for the oil if it was me I would change it as a bucket is less than $50 and why take a chance

    Nice pile Reloader !

I would think that if the fluid looks pretty good, then you could strain it a couple of times to reuse in the splitter. :axe: Especially if your splitter has a filter. From the pic, you may have the same or similar unit to mine. Mtd 25 ton with a spin on filter.

So long as the fluid is clean and clear it will do no harm to reuse it.

I suggest not using the oil again. Any dirt, dust etc that got in there could end up elsewhere. It’s pretty cheap at tractor supply.

Good looking supply of wood. Nice setting to do your splitting. If the fluid looked good, I would reuse it!

cheesecloth, paint or maybe a coffee filter if you even spill enough to be worthwhile
