Lisinopril aka pit viper venom chemical analogue is well noted for its dry and totally nonproductive cough.

I scarfed down a chunk of prime beast yesterday evening. Have a small piece for lunch today thanks to bear's doggy bag.

Nothing better than a good chunk of prime beast...

Makes a great addition to Eggs Benedict instead of the ham..

I rarely have eggs anymore since getting rid of the chickens last fall (2017). Coops are even gone. It cost more to get rid of the coops than to build them.

x7 - late to the party so there probably isn't any cake left, but at least I don't have to put a "belated" in there ;)

Always something to make life interesting...

We got a sample of the shells coming off the new plant the other day, and they are quite a bit bigger pieces than what we have had in the past...

    Not good....

I cleared out the big stove and dumped in a small amount.

The stuff feeds fine but the delivery is not enough to keep the lively continuous fire we have been used to.

Very clean material, but just a tad too big.

Gonna have to make the stuff smaller....

I ordered up a little grain mill to run the stuff through.
The mill is a 2 roller unit that will open up to .100" (Just under 1/8th inch)

The shells measure about 1/16" wall thickness so the .100" should allow the larger curved pieces to break up and fall through just fine.

The mill is for working with home brew beer making.... crushing grain and malt, but should do fine.

For this season the little mill should get us by.

Cost $76 and is rather small, but has an 11 pound hopper.

Instructions say it can be operated by an electric drill... WE SHALL SEE.

With any luck we can scoop the material out of one barrel, through the crusher and into a second barrel and then have ready to burn materials.

For the last 25 + years we have had to run everything through a screen bottom bucket and shake unto the 5 gallon "CARRY UP" buckets, which takes a few minutes per bucket.

Having to crush the stuff will eliminate the shake through the screen bucket, so the time needed may not really add extra time.

There is a motorized unit available for $140, but I decided to try the cheap $$ one first and see how this works.

The plant manager told me that they are still messing with adjustments and that they may well be able to get the shell pieces smaller, but for now their main thrust is to get production going full tilt and the little crap will get ironed out as time goes by.

I did not opt for the board mounting, but instead cut out a piece of 7/8" plywood to cover a 55 gallon drum and will fasten the crusher to that.

I do hope this lash up is satisfactory.

I have a sneaking hunch (dangerous) that if the WIDDLE crusher works good that we may end up with a better product with far less dust than in past years.

Some years the shells have had husks and loads of crap to deal with, that is a mess.

    AHH WELL..... TIME WILL TELL
