A ported one of course. Had a brand new one shipped to Alan of AWOL saws back in October. He worked some magic for me, and now I have this pretty new 562XP waiting to get all nasty in some wood.

Read all about his love for them. I've had my stock one for 4 years now, and in total it's 5 years old. It's always treated me good, and it's my go-to saw.

His gripes with the 5 series Husky's is valid. They (Husqvarna) have a known quality control issue. It sounds to me like he got one of the turds they let slip out...

    In This Day And Age....

Now that doesn't mean these are bad saws. On the contrary GrJfer you have yourself a super nice saw there! Especially since you had a known quality porter do the work. Congrats!

    Congrats, that's a beast of a saw.

I'd love to test drive an AWOL 562. My seat of the couch dyno says he has one of thee best recipes on them. If you still have your old one, it'd be awesome to time it vs. the ported one, same b/c and wood. Let the chips fly where they may.

I do still have the old one It's killing me right now that I can't run the new firewood assassin. Time and weather are holding me back right now. Not mention I need to get a log I can run it in to set the auto tune per Alan.

If you can't get a big log you can always bury the bar noodling a smaller log.

I have several AWOL saws hea a close friend of mine. my 562 is a 16 model and last year at ft scott gtg we ran it noodling red oak with a 42" bar and an 8pin with full comp archer chain. He def has the most powerful recipe for these huskys.
