Yeah I am a big fan of burning coal! I don't blame you on trying to find a used one due to their prices!! I had the same problem when I was looking for a boiler. A new boiler was $7000 and I was NOT paying that, the return on investment was just not worth it. So I found a used one for $700 and bought that instead. I had it all hooked up (in my other house) and then my wife wanted the room to be used as a mudroom instead! So out it came. That is why I have it kicking around.

I read the Bangor Daily News online version pretty much everyday and there isn't any mention of it in the paper. I just looked throughs todays edition and didn't see anything either. Hopefully that isn't accurate cause I need another ton.

TSC seems to be our only easy out right now. MWP mixed in with craprans. Lady me wifey is friends with says bag or ton is same price for us due to circumstances! They won't shuffle through to get the mixed in tons of MWP out in the lot. So we can only buy when they have MWP in the store. ;) Hate we only have GS's at the other BB's.......

Agway said they could order in Blackstones, But never discussed price!! Be looking at longer runs to fetch something if need be..........

Note to self and wifey. Don't wait until December to get pellets. Total uggh moment due to no :makeitrain" :emptywallet::BrianK:

The P61a is still using the Oakie Plats. I am totally disgusted with those as I looked in the ash bin and I will need to empty it today - it's only been 2 weeks! :hair:

The P43 has worked its way back into the TSC MWO's and is happy as a clam now. I am happy too as I realize that the MWP's out heat the Oakie Plats. Proof is in my hair drying. With the Oakie Plats I was dang near at the heat exchanger outlet - seriously, almost banged my head once on the top of the stove. With the MWP's I am a good 3 feet away so I don't burn my hair, nor am I in danger of knocking myself out.

Just to get head off questions - on weekends I head to the shower when the P43 starts its firing sequence. By the time I get my contacts in saline (to wash off the cleaning agent), get my clean clothes set up, get the floor fan set up to blow air into the bathroom (distribute the moisture thru the house instead of up the bathroom fan), the fire has started. Then by the time I've taken my shower (including shaving and long hair washing/conditioning), clothing on and put in my eyeballs, the stove has had plenty of time to warm up.

So the stove should be up to temp by the time I am ready to dry my hair, yet it isn't near shut down either. Not scientific (or green belt-ish), but it is good antidotal evidence.

Happy for anyone who gets good results from the Oakie Plats, but again, my stoves show that they normally aren't all that impressed by pure softwoods.

Wish you were closer... we have a great Harman Super Magnum stoker for $1500.
A heating monster.... Works like a pellet stove, using rice coal and a hopper..

I just called the MWP plant and was told they did not have a fire of any kind. I would say LodgeTree's supplier confused MWP with Corinth.

They had us confused with another mill. We didn't burn down, but we are shut down today for some maintenance.
Some of the smaller stores are having difficulty getting pellets right now because everyone needs them and we can only supply so much.
The stores that bought in the summer (like Tractor Supply) should not run out of stock but we can't get everyone the amount of pellets they need.

Glad to hear the TSC got their stuff together early enough they shouldn't have issues. It has become my favorite place for pellets - as long as your code shows on the bag!

First bag of TSC(rebagged NEWPS UPC # 449394 031717 ) in da hoppa. First impression is they are dusty as chit.......... Only bought 6 bags and then have 6 bags of GS's from Lowes. Checking into the AWF softies BT is carrying for $275/ton. May go fetch a half dozen or so. Worried about the hoppa slide issue, hate that and having to mix with dusty chit. But at least me found a good dusty pellet to mix um if need be!!

Like to go visit artc but we don't trust the 13 year old pellet hauler much more than 20 or so miles. :(
