I had to fire up the snowblower this morning before going to church. That thing is a beast. I had snow slide off the roof in front of the garage and it handled that heavy slushy snow with no problems. It never got plugged. Think I am going to like it.
So as usual, we go from summer to winter. Do yall (you all) remember me bragging about mowing the yard in shorts and Tshirt not too long ago? Welp. now we have 12-18" on the way over the weekend. I warmed up the ol' pipe on the Englander last night and checked to make sure my cleaning and re install was tight and it was. Looks like she will be warming the house from now until spring. Im pumped to try some 2.5 year old Norway Maple.
It’s beautifal. It’s exciting, Ive napped on and off all day, my wife is a baking machine. My 3 grown kids are all in here setting around. It has been wonderful. A big change for an area that only gets 4” per year. However, I am a summer guy lol. Really. It has been enjoyable for sure.
S’all gooder here!!!! I trudged out earlier to the store and to check on a buddy, at the 14” mark.... no problem
14.5 but some places in the county have 17. It has crippled us down here. We have one snow plow in the town and it’s 100 years old. The national guard has come to help. Don’t laugh guys! We ain’t ready for stuff like this.
Not laughing CHeath praying you guys are all staying warm and safe. Couple feet of snow is easy if you have plows blowers snow tires.. If not it's scary and dangerous!!
Yes Eric VW only lives about 45 minutes from me but it’s 2300 feet vs our 1100. We just don’t get any snow because we are in the Yadkin valley and snow historically can’t get over the mountain to us. I’m sure they are better prepared up there.
Do they have plow drivers that know how to drive in snow?? Sounds like stupid question but they didn't in Charlottesville..
Eric VW and CHeath I hope you folks are all going to be ok. Hopefully you’re well stocked with groceries and dry firewood for a week just in case. Home is the place to stay in a situation like that. I’m sure help is coming but it takes time. How’s the weather forecast, any chance of a quick melt? I know it’s a big deal down there but we always kinda enjoy getting snowed in here, especially when the power goes out too for not too long and adds to the ambiance. It’s not fun when you’re not prepared though and honestly, why would you be? Hopefully it’s not a sign of things to come, like a streak of them.
