Congrats to your son. And congrats to his parents who supported him and evidently taught him that hard work can get him to his goals.

Was it the same son you brought to the gtg last June? I remember him as a skinny kid running around. I'm impressed! Congratulations to him, and to you for supporting him through it.

Caffeine finally going in. Slept in a little today. Today is going to be some relaxing and taking my wife to do some Christmas shopping. She is thinking we better get started. And I’ll make sure I get some lunch out of that trip.:D

I noticed this morning that the glass gasket dropped down bottom center. That probably explains the lack of good secondaries lately.

Very good on your son's accomplishment! Tell him congratulations from me personally, please. I know everything that is involved and understand the level of commitment he had to attain to achieve it! Accomplishing this is no small feat as it truly is an "art"! I hope he will continue with his training....just what style is he in?

And thanks to you and your wife for supporting and running him back and forth. No small task there either.

    Yeah, I miss those days...........not! :D

I'm not naive to think that I won't experience them again though....

I hope you stayed in that easy chair and enjoyed the well deserved rest!

Thank you Dave. They study mostly Kenpo, Jiu Jitsu and Sinwali kali stick forms. He is on the demonstration team using a bo staff and he has tonfas that he needs to practice with.

I hope he will continue for a few years attaining a Joshu in high school. It no doubt has helped form his respect for others and taught him that he can accomplish goals. His Sensei is a 5th degree and his father, the owner, is an 8th degree. Both are quiet, but very motivational.

Ugly weather this morning. It has been windy the last few days but at 2:00 AM, I was woken up by quite a storm. Now it is pouring buckets as well as windy. Really nice weather to have a party. At least we are all going to be inside today and the house is warm!!!

I almost started the belt cycle last year, but my recovery after the intro classes was a few days. I have a good physical job that keeps me in shape, but I spar with my son when we can. He definitely can hurt me more now than two years ago.

Any baking today? My daughter will make some cookies and chocolate dipped pretzel sticks later. It sounds like a good day to stay in.
