In an act of utter brainfatrtedness I put my chainsaw gas/oil mix in my splitter. I realized it before it ran. Safe to assume I NEED to get this out and can't just burn through one tank, right? If so, how? I've never siphoned gas before and not sure how easy it would be out of a splitter. Thanks and, I already feel like a moron. Guess I'm doing some hand splits today. I'm using the right fuel for that...beer.

I don't think it should hurt it at all. Might smoke a little bit. I would run it a bit and then add your regular gas that you run in it . I have already put mix in my mower to get it back to the shop when I ran out of regular gas with no problems.

I do that all the time. No biggie. I usually throw old saw gas into the splitter. The saw could get ruined by using old gas, but the 4 stroke splitter won't even think about just using it with zero harm. At worst, the plug could foul, but it's easy to change that if it where were to happen. I've yet to have that happen yet though.

Run it. I doubt you will notice any difference and the engine sure won’t.

Just another guy echoing the run it and don't worry plan. I always like fresh gas for my little saw, so I end up donating any mix that's been sitting for a time to the truck, quad or mower. Everything likes a little 40 to 1 right? Never any problems. I think 3 seasons back deer hunting I almost ran out of gas and dumped a gallon in the truck to get to town!

We run mix gas in all the small engines at work, 2 stroke or not, it keeps the high school kids from straight gassing the 2 stroke motors

wow, I appreciate everyone's responses. I would of recommended draining or siphoning. but I have a tendency to overthink things, and worry too much. :picard:

I'll run some mix occasionally to get through if I run out of regular.
    Won't notice any difference.

Way better outcome to run mixed gas in a 4-stroke than to run straight gas in a 2-stroke.

I've even put chainsaw gas in the car tank...on purpose. Not a problem.

Don't believe a single word these clowns are saying! By mixing the two types of fuel in a 4 stroke engine you have created a toxic brew that threatens the environment for a hundred miles around you! You are endangering your life and the life of your loved ones by releasing extremely dangerous and toxic criminards into the atmosphere!

It just so happens I own an Environmental Rescue company and I can send the specialty team out to seal that toxic splitter in an environmentally friendly coffin. The team will then safely transport the dangerous splitter to Ralphieboys Toxic Waste Disposal Site for safe burial, keeping you air safe to breath for all!

My old lawnmower ran fine for years on 2-stroke boat gas. By the time I upgraded and sold the mower, it had been burning the same can of old gas for 2 years.
