She is a great mom, wife and person and deserves some help. I try to be helpful, for instance she has gotten a dyson vacuum for a birthday present. This how lucky of a gal she is, she’s getting some pampered chef for Christmas also. We are a practical household.
Mine too.. She got snow tires for Christmas last and still thanks me for them.. Of course the were mounted and balanced on SUV. But had to put wrapped gifts under tree, so picked her up some of her favorite spices for cooking. As she had run out during Christmas baking.
Got to be practical where you live! Tools to make your life better and easier are the most thoughtful gifts.
That must have been what she was thinking when she unwrapped that Dyson, I am sure dysfunctional came to mind.
If I gave my gal a Dyson for Christmas, you guys would wonder why I quit posting on here, and eventually find out I had died! BTW, our vacuum is a piece of junk but I keep using it. If she had to use it, she'd walk outside and it would face her wrath as the designated firing squad.
If she would miss you, that’s the opening for a vacuum, you good to go. Until you try you never know.
I got my Dyson out of a dumpster, where I used to work. Whoever in the office park tossed it, didn't know about cleaning the hepa filter, which seems to decrease their sucking power. Still works fine, 6 years later.
Katie could kill it. She does great with husbands, house plants, even kids, but stick a vacuum in her hands and she will kill it dead in one week. I have no idea how many she has killed. Cheap ones, expensive ones, it does not matter. This last one was a Eureka and very expensive, given to her of all people by my ex-wife who had it given to her by her rich aunt. My ex-wife is not about to use it, so she gave it to Katie. One week in this house and it started smoking. The belt is not jammed so I think it might of sucked up a lego. (I am not slamming my ex-wife, the moment she found out she was pregnant with my daughter she went out and got a maid for the house).
I have had three wives and it is really overrated. The first one, she NEVER did housework, but you know what they say, "Dirty house, dirty wife!" She was all that. A blacksmithing Hovel was cleaner then our house, and I knew she was good in bed because EVERYONE told me she was. The second one, she was good at housework because she had money enough to pay a maid to do it, but not so good at amicable domestic relations...that was no good. Katie is a keeper. But I have been married 23 years, never missing a year. Married in 1995, divorced in 2005, remarried in 2005 ten months later. Divorced in 2011, and remarried 54 days later...yep the ladies hear I am available and they come running! (teasing of course, but not about the 54 days, that part is really true. I was only single from May 4th to July 9th of that year)
Well suck my big toe and hoof of the mule I rode in on, I cannot think of anything (appropriate) to give my wife for Christmas. The other day, as we shopped around with the kids, I saw some lamps and thought, "some new matching lamps would be nice", but you just shot that down like a horse with a broken back. I'll have to run this idea by the FHC-OM (Firewood Hoarders Clumber-Official Mother) Midwinter for her thoughts, but I am thinking that is going to be a no on the lamp set now. Katie said "it would be fine if she did not get a preent", but she used the dreaded "fine" word. If she says "fine", it is anything but fine!
My wife will help with all physical aspects of handling / stacking / moving wood (Easy Boys! this is my wife after and we are talking about firewood here). No chainsaw and virtually no woodstove use at all. But she stacks all of the firewood basically alone and this year that was 10 cord! She says she finds it therapeutic..... and I know I do. Brian
Give her something from your heart. I can tell you like to make things what could you make that she would see and know what she means to you ?
While sharpening my saw chains a few days ago, my misses said "I wish I could help you with the cutting part without having to use a chainsaw". I've since bought her a cordless reciprocating saw, complete with charger station/2 batteries (plus the 5 extra at home) & 2 packs of blades. She's pleased and has already put about 8 hrs on it cutting 1 - 3 in diameter branches for kindling.
