Another great weekend in southern Ohio for weather so it was time to get a little more wood in. Worked on a Scarlet Oak and a red oak that was deeper in the woods requiring us to haul it out by hand. Cut, hauled, split and stacked about 2/3 of a cord of oak with the help of my daughter and Emma. Not a ton, but its a start... Cooked some BBQ (pulled pork) and around the fire Saturday evening and enjoyed a campfire with my co-workers.
Great pics. Doesn't it feel good to get back out at it again (without frostbite)? Your helpers look quite the good aid to your task (and hungry after the hard work). Pulled pork -- yumm!

Thanks guys..... Emma was so happy chasing leaves, twigs, butterflies and fascinated by the chips off wood falling out of the bottom of the splitter! She walked with us on each armful we hauled out of the woods. I need to get her a log backback I think. My daughter worked hard this weekend, and your darned right I like that. She carried the small ones and I carried the big ones. She did most of the stacking too. Big help for me and Emma! She will appreciate that wood and heat a little more when feeding the stove this winter I bet. Oldest daughter and Mom were busy taking care of Grandma lately, so I have more one on one time with the girls.
Real nice Fan.....enjoy any time you can get with the kids. I worked on a little stacking yesterday but had to do my duties as head cook and bottle washer today. Ham in the slow cooker cooked in ginger ale was delicious, as was the peach cobbler and chocolate cream pie the wife made.
