35 degrees out now. Silver maple and basswood in the quadrafire. oh, and it just started to dump the rain that the guessers mentioned. It will drop temps out today and we could see a mess outside. Maybe even snow to go with the inch of rain and ice. yuck

I can’t like that, sorry! Best of luck with it, looks like we’ll be seeing it tomorrow. I think I’m on the warmer side so any ice at the start will get melted soon. Fingers crossed for both of us!

Tomorrow isn't going to be much nicer, I guess.

It's still dumping rain. The great news is that my chimney crown rehab works great as there's been zero drips since I did the repair a month or so ago, even when it rains hard.

So, I've been checking the long term forecast...............yes, yes, I know, pretty futile.........but it's been fairly accurate (except last night) so far. I think we've burned about 1/2 cord so far, and a few bucks worth of nat. gas.
    This isn't normal.
Gone through almost a 1/3 cord of Pine, and maybe 1/4 cord of Ash so far. Just weird.
Since the weather forecast called for a low of 22 last night, I loaded up the stove almost full. The house was still 75 this morning at 6:30, and the OAT was 31. Oops. Didn't need a reload for quite a while, and that was only a single split on top of the coals.

Every year in northern MI there are building that can't handle the snow pack. Roofs cave in. On flat roofs they do take snowblowers up to remove the snow. Fun times!

Yesterday was absolutely beautiful here. I think it got to 36 or maybe a bit above but really felt nice. IN addition, we had a rare view of the sun! That doesn't seem to happen very often around here this time of the year. Today is forecast 38 but maybe rain and cloudy all day. Low of 38 tonight then 46 tomorrow but rain, rain and more rain.

Last I checked it was about 36 out. Chaz brought me a cart load of wood in. While I was taking care of the wood inside he grabbed our other cart and 4 wheeler and resupplied the front porch. Rain is suppose to coming in. Gonna make part of the driveway a mess. Part of the driveway doesn't get any sun. So the ice that is already is gonna be deeper. Yuck.

Was a great day for cleaning gutters. Two houses, two garages. Ready for heavy rain.

Woke up to rain beating on the window. Sun came out for 10 seconds this afternoon and now it's raining again. Hit 61...low 47 tonight.

Had to relight the boiler. Probably have to again tomorrow too.

Lol nah. He has a box blade and has already used it earlier this year. But it is a gravel driveway. We have pines that shade the driveway. He does have plans to drop them but other things took priority.

26 here, red maple doing the deed. Thought I burned all of this red maple that came from a big three stemmed monster at grandpa's house a couple years ago.. Guess not! Guess I'll be finishing it off this winter.

I hear ye! We've been blessed with..alot of sun this year. But last year it was more like rainin nonstop - better light a fire to get some natural warmth eh!
