Sorry to be confusing there. I am either a man of few words due to living with all women or a man of too much detail due to doing documentation for work and struggle with the happy medium. I was the one who watched the hours of videos to try and learn. My father has been using a saw for year, I remember when we were kids and had a stove in the back room; I am told we were often sat in front of it as small children to dry. As I got older the stove was removed from the house but my dad would still cut some. For now I am happy with what he has shown me on how to cut a down log. I have no plans to tackle anything standing; when I do he said he is willing to show me. I will also have a close friend who does tree removal work show me as well so I can see it in person a few times before I even begin to start to feel comfortable with the idea.
In short my father is seasoned and I am green on using a saw. I am only willing to hit them while they are down. Thank you for the advice everyone.

When you cut your first tree down, start simple and small to build confidence. No nearby trees to snag them is even better. Soon you'll be knocking them down like nothing. Don't worry we still get oops happen to us now and then. Wait till you get your first saw stuck in a tree.:hair::rofl: :rofl:
