My area dodged a bullet this time. It rained like heck overnight, and drizzled all morning, but stopped in the afternoon. It'll be sunny the next few days, you should get some meltage.

It was snowing pretty good, and there was a coating on the grass at exit 8 when I went to my office this morning....but all rain 3 miles south when I passed by your area.

    It's only money right?

So today I started a timber stand improvement in my woods. Culling all the trash trees around my nice oaks and black walnuts. I grab the 261 and my son's Husky.
Had a rotten black cherry "situation" just before dark now I am $37 poorer. I don't think my son's bar should look like this.

I truly hate cutting rotten/punky trees down. Can't trust my hinge

As long as you are still all hinged together, that bent bar will just have to serve as a good story!

What pizzes me off is it was just a stupid 12" black cherry. Put my notch in was working the back cut everything was good. As I was getting somewhat close to my hinge the whole tree dropped straight down. After an autopsy was done I saw the tree was rotten about a quarter way through. I ran not sure how the bar bought it. The tree was on the ground about 45 degrees away from my notch. When things go south I run oh well,,,

You are OK and the bar can be replaced.

Well, the driveway doesn't look any different than it did last Friday when they picked it up. Does give me more room to maneuver the snow blower when it is in the garage though.

Didn't get any meltage over the weekend (even in the cleared paths) - so not really expecting meltage. I'm hoping enough water drains out of the snow so I can get the paths cleared though.

I would be pretty bummed with all that slippery stuff. Maybe it's just me, but the slippage factor would keep me from running the chainsaw. And wheelbarrows don't work well in snow.

Caffeine! Kids got a two hour delay because of the wet snow. Didn’t really get that much, but enough to make a mess. They say it will changee to rain later. I will see if I can get outside today and do a little chainsaw work. Hopefully clean up an area if not too wet to work. And make some firewood for next season at the same time.
