My stubborn pwt adventure in life continues. Mama Bear ran some freezer burned stuff through the garbage disposal. 3 quarts of shredded veggies:headbang:. Imagine this, the pipes plugged. You know we have a garbage can to throw things away:mad:! Locate the plug in the stand pipe coming out of the floor about a foot down, that goes into the main by the clean out. As I am snaking it realize pipe in floor is moving. Think plug is out and run water, water boils up out of floor. Guess who the lucky pwt sob is that got to spend 8 hours smashing cement and digging wet sewer water clay:salute:. Hope to cut the main splice on new pvc and sub up new clean out and risers. The joys of an old home.

...ya know...stuff happens. After the folks passed and we were getting the house
ready to move back, we had to have the drain lines in the basement replaced.
I paid plumbers to do that. After all was said and working...fine....realized that
the plumbers and me, forgot the upstairs bath tub drain. I had to bust up the
basement floor and connect the tub drain into the new line. PITA for sure....
    but....ya know...stuff happens.

It was just the straw that broke the camel's back. I'm sure it was cracked for years and this just made me manipulate it enough to realize how bad it was. She has however said she is now aware of the purpose of garbage cans vs disposal units.;)

It will work out, but will hurt. I cant imagine what my bill would be already if I hadn't done the work this far by myself. :makeitrain"

I won't own a garbage disposal...nothing good comes from having one. If it needs chopped up, it shouldn't be going down the drain.

Same here no way. SisNlaw had a remodel done years ago and one was added. i explained my dislike and was quickly dismissed. A little over a year passed till the first of many plugs. I never say anything but they haven't used it in years.
