Fun day today back to Harvard for a fun filled day NOT! but made it through and got home fairly(5 pm) early as I left early as I went in early as always. Came home and was delighted that the sump pump was working perfectly but could hear some water running and it was not the sump so I wandered over to the cellar stove and low and behold there was a lot of water running down the foundation wall just a few feet from the P43. Well I thought to myself WTF and upon further investigation I realized that the piping to the outside spicket was the culprit. Well normally no big deal but the problem was that the pipe was still the old pipe and had threaded connections as it was steel or galvanized piping with threaded connection .

So what the heck to do now ? I shut down the main valve coming into the house (Thanks God it worked)and did some further investigation thinking oh man I am screwed but I did find that there was a section of 1/2" copper so I rummaged through my copper parts and found no caps. Off to HD to find a cap and trust me I was happy that I did not have to deal with the threaded connection's. Picked up a few caps, flux and some solder and fortunately I was able to secure a cap on the copper section of pipe and liven everything back up . Everything is back online and all is well except I will have to re-pipe the spicket to the backyard. I plan on re-piping all of the piping getting rid of the old piping and adding drain down shut-off's so that I can properly shut sections of the plumbing.

Tomorrow I have training so no Hellvard but have a lot of work to do at home for work once I am done with the training. Bogie thanks for the advice now I just have to get over my lifelong habit of putting work in front of my personal gains.

    Hope all are well

You sure about that? , I always thought that it was Carter's little liver pills that worked on grumpy old bears.

Most of the "engineers" weren't engineers even for Its Better Manually, been there done that, I have the tee shirt somewhere. Me knew more than most of those "engineers". Punching the cards on the card reader. Got'em all kinds of computer operating systems and one hell of a set of hardware emulators.

Hey, been there, done that a couple of times (as in currently also). However, have resolved to solve that issue and have been actively pursuing other things.

There were a couple of jobs in there that I was content with, with companies I liked, and people that were cool. Those are places I would have stayed at happily for a long, long time. But the one I was at for 13 years laid off 40% of their workforce (not even taking into consideration those that had shown the most loyalty and flexibility), and the other closed its doors, so now my outlook is it is ALL business. True, I have stayed at my current place too long but they aren't a horrible company, so I wasn't going to leave them in a lurch - that is not who I am (although I did come close to quitting abruptly about 2 months ago).

had Carpel Tunnel surgery on the left wrist done yesterday. can't quite put the wedding ring back on this morning, but all is good. the right wrist is a complete success and probably at 75% recovered - no more numbness issues. prolly the left will be good as well.

Nurse said - no driving or making big decisions for 24 hours - no alcohol, blah blah. must have forgot that last night when the Stoli Vanilla was calling! OOPS!

Artc that was due to the sedative you had, the same line you are given when you get a colonoscopy, or have any procedure done. Possible drug interactions.

Training's done and took care of some work after but still have a bunch to do but I am to dang tired so tomorrow morning I will do it as I am going to be going in a bit late as I have to work a double shift tomorrow. Insane amount of water flowing with the meltdown and rain last night this morning not just in my basement :) but a lot of rivers around here are at or above flood stage. Strange weather and some of the wettest weather I can remember in a long time
Plumbing held, sump pump is working like a champ so all in all content for the evening. Having a beverage and sitting in front of the stove before I retire for the evening .

Didn't get a chance to see if there were still any Matra's left and order a ton as at the training they forbid phone use which is a great idea and there is only a few minutes between classes so that time is used to check in on chit at work . Going to have to do it tomorrow as well and am hoping they still have some left, if they do I plan on heading down to daffonce's neck of the woods and hopefully having some breakfast after I grab a ton.

We've been running single digits, today was 3 most the day, two big loads in the clothes dryer vented inside for winter brought it up to 4%

Accepted a position at a large company today. Will be a longer drive, but almost 25% increase in pay (and not quite as long a drive as when I worked in Devens, MA). Of course I have to live up to expectations and it won't be a cake-walk, but who doesn't love a challenge?

Just have to get thru all the background checks (should be easy), credit check (again, easy), and pee test - wicked easy. Looking at a start date about the second week of January - assuming all goes as planned.
