Is this a burl?

Is this a burl or just a damaged tree?

 

...a burl on steroids!Looks as though there may have been a limb or two there at one time.

 

There are several in this part of the woods. I’ve counted three from my deer stand. Obviously I haven’t had much luck hunting because I’m posting burl pics. Thanks for the response Ralphie Boy.

 

Looks like "cat face" damage.

I wonder if the repair growth around the opening would be burl like?

 

I’ll get better pics of the two other trees when I get down from the stand.

Jeez.. damaged a while ago, grew around it and prolly recovered from disease of the damaged area and is now ok. Ready for a couple bowl projects. Lol
