Loaded tires and ballast are critical for a B series tractor. Ballast especially will help keep the rear wheels on the ground and take some of the weight off of the front axle. Great excuse to pick up some heavy rear attachments, like a box grader, skidding winch, back hoe...
Yes, they are loaded. So much weight far out front, definitely need ballast. Agree- next implement will be a box blade. (At some point)
I did the 50 hour service today. Visual inspection of different things, greased everything, changed the oil and filter, which was pretty straight forward- Kubota could've kept the radiator hose away from the filter instead of up against, making it a little trickier than I would've liked- plus their will likely be a rubbing issue down the road from vibration. HST & Trans fluid stayed, only filter change, which again- straight forward, they seem to share the same reservoir. I needed Dawn to hold a shopvac at the fill area in the back, leaving just a small gap for suction without sucking up fluid while i switched filters. This trick worked great, only losing what was in the filter!! basod & MaineMtnMan this trick is worth looking up on YouTube when you hit your 50hr service! Other than that, moved some wood from below up.
Just 3 blocks on a middle buster. This is just poplar, light stuff. When i have the $ we'll pickup a box blade
That particular kubota has a loader style with more lift capacity. IIRC 1250#, which was a selling point.
Yea- this was a selling point. Slightly more compact since the property is tight in spots at the moment until we continue to open it up. I'll show you this weekend Canadian border VT what we've done so far. We cleared an entire hill 90% along with the field of trees and brush opening up the view. Loads more to do. Anything and everything this loader has been impressive!
Gonna start working on these chains Canadian border VT fuelrod. Got the angle grinder ready, hopefully it's smooth sailing- getting ready for the storm tonight & tomorrow. Above freezing so decent conditions to put these on. Will snap a picture when they're on!
Jack Straw I mounted the chains, left no issue, right side mounted but human error. I angle grinded the leftover chain after tightening it down, but realized it needed to be a little tighter. Ok, tightened, double checked both sides except the extra links, moved foward, clang clang clang. WTH was that? Chit, the extra links on the inner side slightly tore up the inner fender- that I missed cutting off! Oh well, couple bends and missing paint. Ok, we're good, hopefully we get through without any issues. Thanks again you know who you are involved in this! From the rear Left side, close but clear Right side, minor bending They look great and really dig in! I'll get something other than a couple bungee for the sides at some point
Awww man, that sucks. I know it is cosmetic, but still, on a new tractor that sucks! For what it is worth, I am sorry that happened. :-(
I was just looking, won't pull the trigger this year, but who knows. It would be for the tractor. Thinking a fertilizer spreader type. Saw one with decent reviews at tsc.
