I'm sticking with Cubex . By the way HD had 170 tons of Carrage House sitting on the side of the building.
I burned Cubex in 2012 and it was a nasty pellet. It was my first year burning pellets and I read all the great reviews. I almost got rid of the pellet stove they were that bad.Ash was just crazy.I think it was a bad batch but I have never considered burning them again.Maybe some day.
Happy Thanksgiving folks, brrrrrrr. Local Aubuchon has okie premium @ 289.99 less 10% off for 260.99 a ton. Per bag at 7.29 ouch. Does the price per ton sound fair?, Tried a bag about a mounth or so ago and they seem to heat a bit hotter then the LaCretes and less ash. Just my 2 cents. Stay warm........
$289 is what my local Aubuchon's is selling those for (same bag price too). If your happy with the pellets, I say go for it - especially with that 10% off coupon.
Same here after you buy one ton if you belong to their whatchmacallit you get $5 off making it $284 then after I bought the third ton I got $10 credit on anything making it $279 a ton. They had the 10% discount posted as well and when I asked as it said over 10 bags the manager said that by the ton they were already less than 10% discounted. Thought to myself WTH is he talking about and pretty sure 50 bags is over 10 bags but this was on the same day I was considering my driveabout(bugging out / stressed out) and thought it best I would be better off not to engage and I did not. Sometimes you have to pick your battles..... They burn well pretty hot but have more ash than I had expected, the Northern Max have about a third less ash and they burn even hotter well in my stoves anyways. But I can't find them for less than $300 a ton so I am gonna try some of the Matra's after I pick some up hopefully tomorrow. Right now Burning Northern's and Okies
I get their emails and it said 10% off for over 10 bags - but it also has the disclaimer that it wasn't applicable for a ton. vtktm802 may have a coupon, or the terms for that area may be different than mine. They also have a $10 reward for over $50 purchase (must be used within 14 days - and have to belong to their Rewards club).
Thanks Bogie that would explain it and glad I did not engage Never seem to spend the time to read any emails outside of work or advertising at least, thanks for the confirmation.
Just did the math. If you buy 10 bags that equals 72.90 per ton. Get 10% off and that is 65.61. Then get a $10 reward - that brings the price down to 55.61 per bag (assuming you use the reward in the 14 days). Not a bad price. I may have to get 10 bags just to try them.
North Dartmouth, Ma. I tried a few bags at the beginning of the season not bad from what I remember . 3 out of 5
Thanks man might try a few for the chites and giggles who knows might be worth the time and effort . Ouch 1:36 at best without traffic a long haul from Luneyburg for a ton maybe not but then again one never knows ... Thanks again
bogieb you are right, just called my local Aubuchon, $ 65.60 for 10 bags. I try and see if I can do a pre buy while the sale last's and weasel in my rewards card. Being it's all of 1 degree here getting 10 bags for now. Brrrrrrr
Just realized I had several typos . Well, at least everyone seemed to get the idea of what I was trying to say. Just astounded that no one had fun with it.
BTW - if you live close to your Aubuchon's, grab 10 bags a day. You can earn the $10 reward once per day. In theory, that makes buying a ton over 4 days gives a price of 277.50 (if you count the reward as cash back). Where a regular ton costs 289 less the $10 reward is 279. You save $1.50. Okay, that isn't an exciting savings, I'll admit. Of course you need to weigh your gas costs against that $1.50 too. Me, I could do it since they are 2 miles away, and like today, I was 1/4 mile away when I went to the dump. I'll go right by there tomorrow on the way to get groceries too. Don't need a ton - actually don't NEED any, but why not when it is at a price I am willing to pay for a better grade of pellet than I normally use.
