Guys, the Matras are performing well. Outstanding, in fact. Anyone who has an opportunity to pick some up, you will not be disappointed.
Thanks guys just so happen to have tomorrow off and if they are still available I will be grabbing a ton ! Going to head to the website and see if they are still available. Yup guess they still have some , expensive but everything is right now. Thanks again
Well had good intentions and was actually excited to try a new pellet but fate would not have it as I got a call from the Mrs. 3/4 of the way there, had to turn around and head out to Westford. My In laws own a commercial rental property with about a dozen tenants, one whom just opened his business Boxing Cardio Gym installed a state of the art boxing ring and there was a leak yup you guessed it right over the expensive brand new ring. My father in law is in Florida as they head down there every year and was freaking out so I turned around and checked in on the roofer took some pictures and sent them to him. Oh well maybe next time although a lot of vendors are selling out of everything they usually stock .
Gonna try again tomorrow Uxbridge seems to be the only place to still have them as Robbins was sold out. Hopefully the website is accurate and they will be open tomorrow.
Second thought heck I might just take the ride as its not that far and if there is a decent breakfast place down there daffonce I'll buy Would like to be there when it opens which is 8:00 am according to the website, have to buy and install a new sump pump at some point today the old (new) one was working perfect for a few days but when i went down to load the P43 last night a ton of water again ! Can't afford for it to fail while I am at work and flood the basement .... Also found a farmer just west of here who sells shelled corn for fuel depending upon what he gets for it might try to mix some corn in, sounds like he's on all the essential needs with super clean and guaranteed 13% or lower moisture but have a feeling it won't be much of a discount so might be a wash . Would like to head out there just to see their farm as they have 540 acres and I have hiked out there before Northfield it's beautiful, a good size milking herd with 200 Holstein's.
Crap was to late the good news is that I did manage to grab a ton but 3 tons of Matra's went out in the 10 minutes I was there I guess the word is out. Thanks again for the heads up guys and daffonce we will be having breakfast at the depot cafe next time I am down there, I like the place he has a nice loader and knows how to run it. Been gritting my teeth at Abuchon as the manager does not know how to run a forklift and the other kid does fairly well but still not really decent operators and I don't want to explain to the company how I managed to fux up the brand new truck they just bought me. Was a nice ride down there jumped on 190 to 290 to 146 all highway through some nice country as I have not been down that way since the Providence Mall project in 99. Nice area down there in the Blackstone Valley was a nice ride. Now to Unloading ! and thanks again .
Don't have to buy pellets to have breakfast, looks like it will not be raining so if they in fact still have some I will be headed down there next Saturday and would be happy to buy breakfast to whomever can make it. Anyone else live near there let's have some breakfast next Saturday Depot Cafe granted something stupid does not come up at work and they still have some Matra's.
Nice thing about those Matras is they produce so little ash, you can burn the stove for a long time and there is no build-up in the burn pot, so the flame remains very strong throughout. You could look at the stove days later, and the flame and pot will look like you just cleaned and lit the stove, and that's just the kind of pellet it's nice to be burning during a long stretch of cold weather. They have the same characteristics as Vermonts, including the strong pine smell. They are a lighter color, likely because they are all white pine. If you have burned Vermonts, you will feel right at home with these.
I have burned Vermonts and have them in the hopper as we speak, one thing that I noticed was that the pellets are very soft which is weird and I hope I did not get a bad batch . They do smell very good and hopefully they will burn as you have mentioned TT. I am looking forward to see how the perform and am confident in what you have described as what will happen as I have a lot of confidence in your opinion, just hope I did not get a bad batch as they are a very soft pellet. Will let you know how I make out and thanks TT. Sounds like they are just what the doctor ordered.
Wow That's all I can say Granted it was warm last night only got down to low-mid thirties but exactly as you and daffonce described the ash level or lack of is truly amazing matching Vermont's and the DF's I have tried. Did a serious OCD cleaning on both my stoves yesterday as with the cold snap they were run very hard and I mean very hard for a few days . I cleaned the holes in the burn pot on the 68 meticulously as I spent a lot of time on it and it made a big difference(going to do the 43 today) as even the first 2/3 of the hopper before the Matras were Okie Plats and there is basically almost no ash, pot has stayed clean as a whistle and the stove is firing perfectly. Good stuff thanks again very doubtful but if they still have some ill be heading south next Saturday, amazing pellet.
Warning Warning !! These are the worst pellets I have ever tried and I don't want any fellow members to be stuck with these I will do my best to buy the remainder of these so none of you fine members (pigs) get stuck with these pellets. Once again warning Warning do not buy these pellets Ill take the burden off anyone whom might be thinking about purchasing these Don't pay any attention to the poster above behind the curtain ! He must have hacked my account to post such nonsense !
