spent ZERO minutes shoveling and snow blowing last night. just a rain event!

officially called off our planned 200+ yard concrete pour for the year. The building contractor will start construction next week, and has begun staging materials at the site. We'll do the floor in the spring as an inside pour.

Means an April pour probably and leaves us little time to organize ahead of our spring show May 4-5. bought a used Genie 1930 electricians lift for about $2,000 to help us wire the building and future construction. 12,000 sq feet with 18 foot ceilings is not something I'm willing to do off a single 12 foot step ladder (standing on the OSHA approved (not!) top step!)

If they didn't want you to stand on it they wouldn't have made it a step :D

I did my small snow blowing job this morning. Can now get to the back porch without wading.

Drove Natalie's Subaru into town to bring Emily to work this am, became quickly apparent how lousy the summer touring tires that came w/ the car were, on anything other than dry pavement.. So,

Picked up a needed 19mm 1/2" 6 pt. socket, and took advantage of a patch of dry ground where the car was parked last storm, to switch over the snow tires/rims on Natalie's '14 Subaru this am.

Took it for a test drive after-swap on a few secondary roads: "Sheila, the Subie Roo" felt sure-footed like a billy goat in the snow.

    * Very Thankful today to the folks out in Albany who offered them up on CL after taking the test drive - they could have asked a whole lot more $$$ for this set: and it would have been worth it. Another "keep 'em safe in winter" item, for me to check off the list.

Having an early Thanksgiving today for my daughters (and the dog) before they head off to the ex's tomorrow. Turkey, gravy, candied sweet potato's, stuffing, string bean casserole, cranberry, wine......I'm getting  just thinking about it.

Bought a Butterball turkey breast instead of a whole bird.....going to see how it goes in the air fryer. :stirpot:

Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving tomorrow! Enjoy family & friends. :drunk:

IMG_0366.jpg Home early YES! left Hellvard early to beat the traffic and pretty much did so. Loaded and cranked up the pellet stoves having some Tito's and cranberry sitting in front of the stove Chillin. Going to be a chilly one tonight, tomorrow, and tomorrow night so the stoves will be cranking to keep the old house warm. Getting hit by Squalls at the moment don't expect anything serious so it is time to relax.
Plan on getting some rest this weekend and for the first time in I don't know how many years I will be taking off Friday after Thanksgiving so 4 day weekend and I plan on getting some serious rest and sleep to re-charge.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day tomorrow ! Keep warm

We cut the cord 7 years ago. Put up 2 antennas in the attic (1 points toward the Boston area, the other towards Manchester), get 37 stations. Have Amazon Prime as well. Last Nov when DTV Now launched I got the Go Big package (about 110 channels) for the $35/month promo. We're grandfathered in at a low price for that package (went up to $40 in Aug) until we cancel. First 6-8 months DTV Now had a lot of issues but over the past few months has been pretty stable. Think now you can have 3 devices streaming at one time (was 2).

snow tires make a huge difference especially on my subaru. i had an 08 legacy and now an 18 legacy and the difference is night and day with the tire switch. I did get caught in a recent early snow storm without winter tires, and i got around fine, but the traction control and abs were working overtime. with the snows on, the car drives great and abs and tract control almost never comes on.

Had a squall go through a couple of hours ago, the front must be going through now. Temps are dropping and the wind and gusts are starting. Tapped into my pallet of Lacretes. I will be feeding them until the temps moderate.

HF had a sale on a generator (8750) I've been looking to buy since it was on sale this past presidents day for $499. Last time around when I went to buy it I had to get a raincheck since they were out of stock when I went. Went a week later and they still didn't have it in stock and didn't bother going back again before the raincheck expired. Fast forward to today and it was $499 again and I also receive a no exclusions 15% off coupon. Got it for $450.49 out the door. Hope it works, it's replacing a B&S 5500 generator.
