Cold for the next 3 days then a warmup that will be very welcome except we're hoping all the frost does not go out yet. Better the ground stays frozen.

Took advantage of the somewhat warmer temps and rain ( 41ºF and dropping right now ) to clean out ashes .
    Burning pine right now.

I came home from my first day at work in a good while after being on vacation.

My wife had the stove a choochin' and 70° in the house. She was burning fir ( I think). I loaded up the gorilla cart with shagbark and sugar maple. That is in the garage until I bring it into the stove room. I thought I heard it was going to get into the single digits tonight, but now I'm only seeing upper 20's. If that's the case it might be Maui weather in my house tonight.:dennis:

Upper 20s here, white pine and a split of red maple in to hold the coals overnight. Cat just lit off, time to dial it back a little and hit the hay. Looks like some chilly weather moving in for the night before Thanksgiving.. guess I'll give it a go with some hickory that I've held onto for a few years.. After I make sure I have enough put away for cooking. ;)

Gonna have some pretty clean glass on Thanksgiving!

Mid 20's & light snow overnight. Silver Maple with a little Red Oak in the boiler. Thanksgiving is supposed to be cold. We'll see, but I'm betting it'll be warm inside.:dex:

Was 18-22* with about 5 inches of snow, and a nice moose pot roast meal. 285D5BB8-11A0-4AA6-9592-9FA0BECAABC4.jpeg EC18FD9A-3FB6-4E0C-A4F8-FD1B101A4131.jpeg 0FD3926D-3746-4C34-90BC-615CC2BDEB0C.jpeg F2CD6EB1-87C7-409F-95DB-6ED316D4067D.jpeg

My wife, son and I split and stacked this half cord of green larch 2 nights ago. I wanted to get this taken care of before winter really set in. This will be overnight wood starting November 2020.

    Green Larch Nov 18.JPG

Edit: Almost forgot to mention that its -11c at the moment and Ive got a healthy bed of pine coals that are waiting for me to load the stove up with my overnight larch.

It’s 75 in here, 23 outside with a real mess. We ended up with at least 8” total. I cleaned up 6” around 4 pm and the temperature was dropping from a high of about 33. The snow was light and fluffy as it fell but got wet and heavy once it got above freezing in the early afternoon. It kept snowing until a little after 8 with an additional wet 2-3” then it froze solid. Looks like it might melt this weekend, but Thursday it’s gonna be in the teens with below zero chill factor. Definitely a record cold for Thanksgiving.

Another 3-4 inches overnight. Currently, 12 and that'll pretty much be the high for the day.

16 OAT with a "real feel" of -2 right now. Going down to 3 tonight.
Still 72 IAT at the thermostat (no furnace burn last night though). Thinking about putting another split on the coals.

Morning all, All the windows in the house replaced yesterday, No more giant ovals of frost on them any more even in the bath after shower just a very light bit of fog on those. Still need to replace some of the bulb seals on the casements but that is a minor chore. wind came yesterday about mid morning sure was howling. Friend called last evening said a pedestrian got blown off sidewalk into traffic and was sideswiped by a car in the lane next to him.
