Provider is Sprint. Budget is $400 or less. Will be buying outright, leasing is for suckers.

    No compromise: Android OS.

So, like they always do...my phone is dying. Will show 60%+ charge then just dies and goes into a boot loop that will not stop until a hard reset is done while attached to wall charger...fun stuff.

Needing to get a new one. Shopping black Friday deals and deals with my provider...too many choices!

Does anyone have a Motorola Moto Z phone? Looking at the Z2 force offering. Liking the extra battery pack that is available. Can be had at Best Buy right now for ~$165.00 including activation fee (battery pack extra $).
get the new moto z force edition

    LG phones? No experience...any good?

    Samsung...dang those mofos are expensive!

What says FHC? What you got? Do you like it? Any specific features that make you like it?

Sorry, iPhone7 on Verizon, so I'm of no help whatsoever.
Good luck with your final pick.
The old Motorola XT907 was pretty good, but that was a few years ago. Android.

I like the Samsungs I've had largely do the camera quality. I'm out of date with an S7 though.

I'm kind of partial to Motorola stuff. Have only ever had HTC otherwise in the dumb phone era.

I've read that a lot...good cameras. I'm just not willing to pay their price of admission. :emptywallet:

This HTC 10 that I have is dying due to battery issues. Camera has also been wonky for about 3 months. Last phone was original Moto X, which I liked, but memory was not expandable and I ran out of storage.

I don't buy a phone for status. I don't have to have the bestest, but do want to have something quality. I just need something to browse the web, watch the yewtoobs on, and post pics of hoarding activities on FHC! :woodsign:

I've had 2 galaxy S6's. Both have worked good. Both started giving me short battery life after a year or so.
I'm satisfied with Samsung. I don't know what they cost but our secretary orders them in then has them programmed.

I hear that RCBS  I am kinda the same way!!!

I would say do your homework and compare the specs on each phone and then go for the best deal!! Any newer Android phone for the most part is going to give a good experience for what you mentioned above. I've had a lot of different brands of Android through work!! HTC, LG, Samsung (Currently), and Motorola. I like the Motorola and Samsung the best, but Samsung can be as pricey as Apple. However see if you can score a deal on an older model. I had the 7 and now the 8 and I've had good experiences with both so far. The video and camera as already mentioned is superb.

I have a motoz. Its the best phone i have had, I'm about to upgrade. But don't know to what....
The fast or turbo charger is nice, the battery was really good the first two years. I've been thinking of the extra battery to restore my lost capacity I think they can be had for 65 on Amazon.
It's been the first phone that I haven't broken or messed up or died of water "water proof".

Agreed! The fast charge feature is awesome I can charge my phone at 20 or 30% to 100% in under a half hour, its an awesome feature. Another feature as mentioned by Boomstick is the waterproof. My current Samsung is water resistance/proof I think about 4ft. Not that I would ever swim with it or recommend but nice to know if you drop in water or it gets wet its not gonna harm it.

That's the stuff I'm wanting to hear! I'm pretty good about not destroying phones, physically. I always end up with storage or battery issues. Current phone good to go on storage, but battery is crap and camera won't focus. It did take great pictures for a couple years before.

The "z" phones from motorola are up to a Z3. They have three tiers it seems. The force models are the ones with better batteries and Corning glass on them, so that's where I'm looking.

I got a Motorola Moto e5 about a month ago and HATE IT. It seems like everything requires more taps and swipes than necessary and the camera sucks. I gave this one a try because I really liked the Motorola Razrs that I had before. This phone replaced a bottom-end Samsung j7 that was pretty good. I shoulda just got another Samsung.

I bought mine, Samsung Galaxy Sky, about a year ago, thur Tracfone, for $50. It's fine for me, being in a remote area, for texting and occasional voice. Nice camera, too.

Well, if you want to save a bunch and get what you need, get the Moto x4. It's waterproof, can take the SD card to expand memory and it's a great size. The Moto actions are really really nice. The x4 is getting the most current is update to "pie"already as well.

I bit the bullet as my wife and I needed new phones before we went on vacation to Hawaii. We preordered 2 LG v40 phones. They are awesome, the cameras ( all 5) are amazing, and it's unrivaled for picture and sound quality. Those are a bit out of your price range, but if I had to keep the cost down, I would've gotten the Moto x4. I loved my Moto x 2014.

We both got E5's a couple months back when we switched from Verizon to Cricket...the price was right...free.
That said...its my 1st smart phone, and I catch myself grumbling "dumb phone" under my breath pretty frequently. I thought it was just me not being used to a smart phone, but my wife says it really is a little more quirky than her old phone, a Motorola Droid Max.
I'm not gonna switch right now, but also would not recommend the Moto E5 Cruise.
The service provider however has been great!

Look at refurbed Samsung S7's or above (. Many times you can find a nearly brand new phone for a lot less. I have an S5 that I bought refurbed 2 months after that version came out. It was in perfect condition and I am still using it today without any issues. Just check with your provider what the minimum is

Yeah, reviews I have read ruled out the E series from Moto.

I like the spec of the One, but it's a GSM phone...not compatible with Sprint Network. :picard:

What is the data charge rate for something like those? :D

Currently, the Moto G6 is a front runner. I still want to get into the Z series as the extra battery pack is very attractive. No Z2's available within 250 miles of me....Sprint out of stock for at least two weeks. So...Now focused on the Z3 play model. Will wait until I can hold them in my hands to make a decision.

The G6 and z series are good. You can't go wrong with either. Otherwise, look at the Nokia 6.1, or the higher models. 7, and 8. That 6.1 looks like a great phone for not a lot of money. My mom really likes her Nokia 6. It's just not waterproof, but at $200, who cares? The 6.1 is only a few dollars more. Cool thing about the Nokia's, is that they have guaranteed 3 yes of security updates. Your seal of assurance | Nokia phones

We've mostly had Motorolas, no complaints. Except I wish I still had the microsd card port and the availability to change batteries, not sure they even do that anymore.
