and that frees up the rest of the day to fit in another paying job or use the machine to make more money or spread the loads out after you dump them.
    Win-win + win

I did a job at Latrobe brewery. Got one case of beer outta them in a year...
They would throw it away before they'd give it away.

I'd throw away anything from Latrobe anyway...

Nailed it pretty good there! I've been on the wrong end of guys trying to save a dollar by taking it out of my body, so I recognize it right away. You can figure out the right answer by who's doing the work...the guy who figures it makes sense to dig a ditch by hand isn't the guy holding a shovel.:D

The biggest problems are not being able to haul it in one load and not having a bucket to load the trailer. With 2 guys, a skidsteer, and a dumptruck, it would take about 2 hours on the job. Hard to compete with that without hydraulucs

Thanks for all the advice and perspective. The guy called me and said it turned into a bigger project than expected. More concrete under the existing concrete. They called in the professionals.
    Thanks again for the help.

I did a job like this and charged $250 to load a dumpster with my skid steer. Loading heavy stuff like that beats the hell out of your equipment, it wasn't worth it for me. I would rent one next time.

Kevin, consider going over with the trailer & see if the excavator will dump in a couple loads to get rid of it. If you ever haul stone or concrete, put a 6" layer of sand in the bottom of the trailer to cushion the bed. Saves the trailer bottom.

That is a good idea, I was going to suggest a sacrificial plywood deck cover. I fix dump truck beds at work here and there, they get beat to death doing things just like that. I wouldn't want that happening to a personal piece of equipment

    $650 to $750.

Lots of good answers here, crazy how like-minded we all are (especially when we talk about beer as a barter)!

    Rocks for Bocks??? Love it!
