Mother is Rotti, Father Black Lab. Shares the Lab disposition. Has an exceptional nose and is excelling at scent detection work. She was at a cadaver training exercise today and made very fast find of the "murder weapon" which was randomly concealed outside in a unknown location. Instructors were very impressed.

That is true. They are very smart and can get in trouble if they are bored.

Fencing them in is hard since they will climb a 6 footer and dig/crawl underneath it too (ask me how I know). Heck, we watched our pups' mother, a purebred husky, charge a fence at a run and then slide on her side to get underneath - just like she was stealing third base. All the pups who got a chance was a chicken killer - for the fun of it. They lived in different states, so they didn't learn it from each other. All were smart enough to figure out if they wiggled their toes, the chickens would get curious. One pup was chomping off heads as the bird stuck her neck out of the chicken wire - drove the owners nuts trying to figure out what was getting inside the pen. The headless chicken body would keep walking around the pen for a while, so it appeared it was dying from an attack inside until they caught him in the act. Our dog was on a cable and just waited for the chickens to get within reach (only caught the male doing it, not our female).

We did have great fun with them though doing some sledding and they are great walking/hiking companions (on leash). Great with other dogs, kids and people. They got along well with cats too.

This is Jack, the oversized lap dog. He only gets up on a lap on occasion but he loves it.

You must have held him in your lap when it was a pup, (or someone may have) That is why I would pet my dog, rub her belly etc. But didn't hold her when she was a puppy. She is over 100 lbs now. Her father is a big dog, mother average size for a lab. My Molly isn't a glutton like most labs can be. I put her food down, but she eats it when she feels like it. She eats some or all of it. Depends on her mood.

Beautiful dog,but I'm  over the inside walls of your house. I grew up in a log sided home. with the quarter siding inside on the exterior walls.

Hi bogieb and savemoney , she has fit in great here :) !! Quite impressed with her potty training despite her tiny age. About 4lbs when she arrived

Crankie old Blackie dog actually wags at her and "allows" her to sleep on him, and big Blondie dog lays down and plays with her on her side and rolls over on her back for the pup. The kitten that was the new kid on the block this same time last year took a few days to stop his protest and come out from the bedrooms, but is ok with the pup now. It's too cute, the cat, the kid and the pup chase each other back and forth through the house in any order  .

Our wildcat Lila is not interested in human contact except seeking us out when her bowl is empty, goes from the microchip door to her food bowl to her heated bed in the garage, has seen the pup on the driveway, came and looked at her, backed up, and left. The other wildcat that stayed here after my cleaning lady left actually is nice to her, who would have thunk, huh!?! Actually rubs up against her and tolerates her climbing and falling on her in the yard, odd but very cool.

She is a standard poodle, apricot (thus the name peaches, kiddo and I were calling her cutie pie--apricot--pie--peach pie = Peaches).

Her mouth and teething/bite is much different than I'm used to, small inside unlike most the gun dogs we've had, but she's more gentle than they were though they had "soft mouths". Her vocalizations are different too!!

Thought she might be a Standard Poodle, but sometimes it is hard to tell. Glad she is fitting right in!

I changed my Avatar. Feeling melancholy as holidays are near and my first ones in many years without Max. Still feeling guilt about letting him go. So many "but what ifs" that need to resolve. The Avatar show Max mentoring Molly 5 years ago.

I'm sorry Larry. It takes a good owner to care for a dog lovingly, only the GREAT owners give a dog the gift of a dignity when their little bodies wear out.

And I have regrets with our Siamese, we waited too long. I'm sorry Zippy.

Thanks Thor. Log home living is nice till you have to dust or want to run new electrical wire.
