Was 80 ° inside the greenhouse. Plugged in the heat tape that's in the soil boxes. Be planting tomatoes soon, I hope Good day to wash it inside & out. chlorine & soap for the inside to kill some of the mold that get on the tomatoes & cucs that touch the walls. Washed the dust (glacier silt) off the outside. Garden is a wet gooey mess, still have frozen ground & standing water. Be a month before it's ready to. Can't even walk in there now.
Really nice looking greenhouse. Do you use it to start your plants for outside or just for growing less hardy stuff during the summer? Is that corrugated plastic on the outside or fibreglass? It is nice and clear. I once had a greenhouse that we sided with the old Plexiglas from the sides of a hockey rink. It was very strong and almost bulletproof.
Wow WW. That hockey rink stuff is usually polycarbonate (Lexan clear) sheeting that's 1/2" thick. Getting it free was the only way to use that stuff. I'll bet a new 4'x8' piece of that is over $600 now. Yikes. You're right too… it's just about bullet proof. It would make an amazingly rugged greenhouse for sure.
Sun Tuff poly carbonate , greenhouse sheeting, pretty tough & has a UV protection coating on the outside Yea, I'll be starting the garden plants in it soon. Tomatoes , cucumbers & peppers in the GH all growing season
Planted some tomatoes today. Soil temp was 70° The vent fan was running, set for inside temp of 80° Put the onion set in the garden yesterday, raised bed thawed but not the base soil. Still water sitting on top . Tip toed into the garden onion bed,

Hey Loon. You guys get rain or snow last night? Can't believe how dry it is down in the woods after the snow and rain we've had over the last month.
Cold enough at night for snow stinny but its been clear here for a few days. Ya the woods are very crispy already and the little creek on the left was running well last weekend. The fields are hit and miss so will be keeping the truck off them for a little longer

Thanks The only way to get ripe tomatoes, cucumbers & peppers here is in a GH. Cool nights come early, during ripening time. GH keep them warm at night, vents & fan keeps them cool in the day.
85° in the GH , fan is running. Plants loving it. To hot for me, give them a quick drink & a few good breaths of co2 & I'm outta there. Will open more vents when summer gets here. 55° & sunny , great spring day ! I even hit a shag bag of balls with the sand wedge today. Golf season is getting close.
Got the compost bin emptied & mixed with fresh grass clippings. Starting to cook now. Up to 122° F about 6" down. I'm betting even hotter in the middle. Has shrunk about 60% in volume since last Fall. "Compost" is like firewood You can never have to much Full last Fall:
Do you use a shade cloth in the Sumer/long hot days ? I should be getting mine on any day. Gets way too hot otherwise, even with the wax auto opening windows. I need to get more openings in the ends somehow.
