I live high enough to be out of the flood plain, but not in god's country we call that being in the county. The one where the spuds are grown and spud farms are measured in square miles. My former boss got rid of one of his father's lots back in 2015 it was over 600 acres.

Gotta worry more about the idiots that think they can turn in front of oncoming traffic as if there was no one coming at all. Yeah, had to brake really hard as there were about 7 car lengths between me and the car in front, while going 40 MPH (snowy road with ice underneath). Car coming the other way, from a stop, decided it would be a great idea to jump the gap :jaw:. Oh, and the idiot behind me (car again) that was tailgating me like he was drafting in a stock car race :hair:.

Seriously, people talk about SUV/truck drivers, but I see more idiotic stuff from compact car drivers than anyone. Must be the time of day that I'm out.

Because we are too busy stockpiling pellets! :wacky:

Car has snow tires on year round since I only put on about 7k miles on it.

I usually buy SUV's with A/T's, which are good enough. But this truck came with performance highway tires. I wasn't running the truck on a regular basis until last week. When the place I get tires from is 30 miles from home, gotta do it while I'm at work (1.5 miles away) so I have transportation from a coworker to someplace I can be somewhat useful. I'm not paying the overinflated prices to the dealership in my small town.

Oldest son send me a text yesterday asking if I could give him a ride home from work , I said yes but I work until 5 so I don't know what time I will be there. At
3:30 when he got done he texted me back saying never mind a friend was picking him up. He finally got home at 7;30. It's normally just a half hour drive but people were stuck every where .

Final tally here is about 8-9". Having my 1st morning coffee :coffee:, then out into the abyss to get the chit cleaned-up. :shiver:

They build their damm damms in the granite box culvert the driveway passes over.

That is why I often don't go out. I don't have to subject myself to white knuckle driving. I have no desire to become terrified when I don't have to. We have several steep hills to go over first thing out of my driveway. once off my dead end road, I get to interact with the nuts that go to slows, the nuts that go too fast, and the nuts that want to pass anything in front of them.

There's a whole lotta nuckin' futz going on out there this morning Larry. :picard:

Two trips to town already this am for the Queen and Princesses, one more to go to pick their azzes up, and I'm done. Trip back was worse than early am - roads are downright greasy here in Southern NH.. Like a 105 degree track day @ Talladega.

Just a heads-up and public service announcement to all, might be a good idea to check the tire pressure on your vehicles - I found the tires here were 8 - 10 PSI low when switching the (white chit) tires over, and they were just checked last week.

Have a fun day all - gonna try to do the same & not pull another "Dorothy Hamill" again, while driving this afternoon. ... * There's so much crap on the roads here, I thought I was drift racing, for a moment or three.

The lower the pressure the better traction right? :)

You would think that, but you want the tire rigid so it digs down through the snow, not ride on top.

Air pressures should always be checked going into winter temps.....lower temp = lower pressure.
