31F here with light snow all day. Roads got slick for the evening commute, & somebody wrecked & died about 500' North of my driveway. Really a sad day for a family somewhere around here. No other details yet, but road was closed for about 4 hrs. Ash & Maple in the boiler, probably fire up the old plow in the AM.

29 degrees here, snowing, about 1/2 inch on the ground. Were on the western edge of the storm, not expected to get much accumulation.

I did however load up the IS with some vintage Locust and Silver Maple, got a bit distracted and did not close down the air as far as I should. Next thing I knew - 650 stove top and 102 in the stove room - Yikes! It’s all under control now.

Sorry to hear about the crash amateur cutter , there is never a good time for anything like that to happen. But I think things like that are worse around the holidays. There will be an empty seat at someone's Thanksgiving table forever. So sad. We got a couple of inches of snow here and still coming down good. I just reloaded the the stove with all Oak, hey why not, it's snowing.  In the spirit of the weather, I'm enjoying a delightful beverage. DSCN2084.JPG

Sitting at -9 C feels -17 C or 15 F feels 1 F, and the temp is only going down from here. Should have -16 C feels -22 C sometime in dark 30. More poplar uglies, picking away from one 1.375 cubic foot box at a time.

37 in Richmond, Virginia. I’m looking for the Wood Boiler they are using to heat this 215 room hotel.o_O Its going to take me some time to add the morning firewood into it! Can you imagine the heat for showers alone?:jaw:

Dang were colder here than Richmond VA? Guess it's the way the cold air dips. I'm no where near the little things they call moutains here in SC, either.

We have about 5” so far with a few more to come before it’s supposed to quit just after noon with an expectation of 8” total. It’s 30 outside and I’m burning a mix of KD, beech, and a couple bricks just for trial.
Like most around here I’m not quite ready for snow yet and it looks like it should mostly melt over the next few days anyway. I haven’t put the snowblower on the tractor yet but I picked up the box blade and drove her into the garage like that so I just need to back out, make a couple passes and pick up the bucket to finish the job. I do love the SSQA and the quick hitch on the back.

30F, lite snow maybe 3/4" around 2am. scraped off drive and came down to shop only because a couple of customers had call Thur to say they wanted to pick up their item today. Gun deer season opening Sat. I haven't seen squat this year out back for the last month with the cross bow. Although there are tracks. Even the pups have been quite as they let me know when somethings around after dark.

A few more inches of snow this morning. Walking out to the deer blind was interesting trying to find the right path. Snowing quite hard and only using a small light on my hat but made it okay. Was amazed at the number of fresh deer tracks and I know they were fresh because it was snowing right along.

Did not stay in blind long. Had bad night with ungodly headache. Wife helped me through it. When alarm went off she wanted to get up and take me to the the stand but I told her to stay in bed. I quit early as still not up to par. Might have to take rest of day off. It sucks. Only saw a bakers dozen deer this morning; one buck and 12 does.
