Well, I had a date for lunch with a firewood hoarder Pyscho! I got home late for lunch, Campinspecter just got back from harvesting a truck load of wood so he took me out for lunch wearing his full wood harvesting gear. Sorry Gasifier - no pics but it did happen! and it was a nice treat.

This was my first solo wood gathering experience in 3 months and did not get back in time to have Woodwidow's lunch ready! No time to get changed or that was my excuse!

You two sure are an interesting duo. "Campinspecter just got back from harvesting a truck load of wood"… how come I think of CI swinging a 36" saw in each hand… then his "truckload" is a full semi with logs stacked 20' high… all before lunch… :D

Definitely hard to grasp if you have never been there. This is looking a mile down at Phantom Ranch.

Just read that Mr Inspector spent March "getting better". Very glad you're on the other side of that. If yesterday's lunch in your favorite spot on the lake, was the first of the season… it must have been mighty good taking it all in… :)

Just pulled out my calculator and did some firewood scrounging math.
For me this is exciting, largest inventory I've ever had to date.
After yesterdays scrounge of a 1/2 cord, it brought my total up to 10.1 cords C/S/S
However, only 3.5 of that is ready to go for next year. I'm hoping the ash I
put aside will bring that 'ready' total up to 4.5 if this summer cooperates in drying time.

Almost had a good scrounge, a bunch of pin oak out by the road and we had the truck. Then we noticed the big stacks in the backyard and kept driving.

Sitting at the Ford dealership waiting for my new front tires, getting an alignment and oil change and replacing two stabilizers.

Speaking from experience here...if there is a dead deer laying in your lane on the interstate, don't run it over at 80mph! You will break chit and blow a hole in your tire! :emb:
