Awesome ! Great news and great work B.B. and others.

Stuck at Hellvard as they can’t seem to find an Assist Super to cover the second shift so we rotate between Supers one night a week and tonight happens to be mine. Long Flipping day and have to be up again in the AM to come back to Hell and do it all over again. At least I’ll be screwing out of here early tomorrow for PT! Third shift comes in at 10 (safety guy) as we have pipe fitters here 24/7 as we liven up miles of copper HWSR and CWSR for the first time. With a lot of finishes going it would be a disaster for a serious leak which we have had one already.
Just want to get back to the hills been in the flatlands far to long for one day !

B I take the distribution fan off the P68 and clean it out at the beginning of each season. That bolt you had trouble with is notoriously tough. I use a rachet with two extensions, and that is just barely enough to get hold of it. Putting it back on is fun too. Glad you got it sorted out in the end. I haven't had the pleasure of replacing the combustion fan yet, but the local friendly Harman repair man did it once. The fan set screw is known for seizing. He used PB Blaster and time and got it loose, but told me it's not uncommon to have to cut them off. Next time it needs replacing I will take care of it, love a good challenge.

Antiseize(with nickle) on the screws. Also,if you do not own magnetic sockets, you can always push the screw/bolt head into a socket, around some paper, tissue, will hold the screw to get into back places.

Finally made it home and was delighted to see the P43 was still going ! Loaded it and the 68 and brought up a few bags for the pellet bin for in the morning to fill it again. Up in a few hours to head back to Hellvard but still have to get my chit together for the morning ritual. Might just have a slug of Bourbon to ease the pain as I can’t take my sleep aid and then drive to work a few hours later.
Once again congrats Bogie and a well done to Badbob and others for their advice and PH you are correct Sir always learning here.

For whatever reason the 2-extensions did not work for me. Probably just enough play to mess up the torque (that's my story and I'm sticking to it). Fortunately the L*wes by work had one 10" extension left - which was just what I needed and worked well and used very little effort compared to what I was using with the two extensions (much to my disgust and delight ).

I will have a pro replace the exhaust fan when it is time. If this relatively simple project turned into several hours over a couple of days, I can imagine that the harder one would take me weeks :emb:

I got mine to spin, but it still wouldn run when i hooked the wires back up and tested it.

I have no idea what goes on in that situation inside a motor, and just figured it was "fried" somehow.

Ah, you don't have to do that - just let me know and I'll load up/bring over the trusty Craftsmen 17,000 piece tool set, we'll have that bad fan outta there in no time flat. I owe you one (or three) anyways, for the pellet venting.

you should try the exhaust blower too! Its only a set screw and 3 bolts.....easy-peasy. If you can get that set screw out, definitely do it yourself!

For what a impeller is worth, would be easier to just cut it off only if that set screw is giving you a b*tch of a time. Adding never seize on the new impeller/set screw will do magic on the next removal

Well, a usual 20 minute ride from work turned into an hour + 10. Roads were real bad. Even in 4 whl. dr., it was slick.....stopping (even w/ anti-lock brakes) was scary.
    Got home, and this is what I had after 2 hrs......about 2 3/4 - 3":

We can join our gazillion tools together, strew them all over the place, use each one at least twice (after spending 10 minutes looking for it of course), find between the two of us we don't have that one special tool needed, and take 8 hours to do a 30 minute job ;)
