On clearance at Home Depot $300 off and my wife got a coupon for her Home Depot card for 10% off or 18 months 0% financing. She said looks like we are getting a wood splitter I have read a lot of positive reviews but wondering if there is a downside I am missing. Thanks!
Mine has split anything I have tried to split. I’m mad at you I paid more than you did. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That sounds great man , I have never heard anyone say anything bad about those Ariens , Everyone loves him Who has them
No need to be mad...I am in Canada. We have along standing tradition of paying more than our American friends.
I think those might just be the best rated splitter I've seen on this forum . Hurry up and go get one before they run out
Hahahaha about 35 bucks USD last time I checked. The Canadian Peso isn’t worth much these days. Comes to $1600 CAD so about $1210 USD. Amost the regular price for you guys. Oh and we pay 15% sales tax on top of the $1600. I don’t think there is a state that charges that much but I could be wrong.
I am on it. A buddy is checking if we can order from the store as it’s an online only. If we can’t no 10% off just the 18 month financing. Probably better to finance it as we have a money sucking renovation going on right now. If my wife didn’t give the go ahead I wouldn’t be buying one now as I have no free time to run it. Playing with power tools in the house for a bit yet.
Order online pick up at the store , I saw the commercial that said Home Depot was offering Free 2 day shipping During the holidays I assume has already started
Shipping is 3-9 days to either the store or our home. I would send it to the store either way as I work right by there. Would be easier than trying to time a delivery. They can load it on our truck with the forklift and I can unload it with the forks on the tractor. I am not in a hurry as I only have about a 1/3 cord bucked that needs splitting. Depending on how much Berkshire pork we sell this month I might order a log load in December. All this depends on how far I can get with the bathroom addition I have going on
I have thought about it a few times. Just need to get my passport renewed. With the exchange rate and the taxes I would have to pay at the border it gets close enough to not be worth the hassle. The nice thing is buying American made eliminates the duties at least.
If that model has a Subaru engine, be aware those engines are being discontinued by Subaru which may lead to a parts availability issue later down the road. Otherwise, they are good well built units.
That’s something I am a bit concerned about. I figure they were a popular enough engine that there could be decent aftermarket parts available is Subaru stops supporting them. From what I have read they are a very solid engine and should last a good long time. I am wondering if that’s why they are clearance at Home Depot Canada. I was originally wanting a Surgemaster. Wallensteins consumer line that uses the cheaper Honda engine. They up and disappeared on Home Depots website so I did a google search and all the Surgemaster links go to wallensteins website as a broken link. They must have up and discontinued them. Thanks for the heads up bocefus78!
The trigger has been pulled. Will wait patiently until the call to pick it up. Pics to follow once it’s here and running. Thanks for the input all.
I wish they made a factory 4 way wedge. I usually have bigger stuff to split and a 4 way would save some precision time Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
