We don't have snow melt, but a ton of rain coming with potential of severe storms, hail etc. We are expecting snow during the tail end of the storm, but not much. Hopefully the seed I put down over the weekend stays put. Didn't have time to drop hay down. This means no use of the yard for a month. This winter destroyed the yard.
Our yard is a wreck too, hope your seed stays put. Picture 8845 is from the 11, the rest are from this morning, the Brook is cranking.
The Brook keeps rising, here are some pictures from this afternoon. It's starting to change from rain to snow.
The only good thing is the rain changed to snow, the sooner it gets colder the better. http://northcountrynow.com/news/st-...rgency-face-continued-flooding-threat-0112686 http://www.ogd.com/article/20140415/OGD/704159782
Wow, that water is moving along. We had more wind damage at work in the last 24 hours that we did all this past winter.
Sorry about the wind damage, we had some wind move through last night when the temps started to drop, the biggest problem for our county is the water, it looks like it will get worse.
We had flooding, earlier, now its been windy, and sleeting pretty hard. I expect the snow changeover in the next hour or so, with temps in the upper 30's at the moment. Small load in the stove to keepnthe chill at bay. Be safe everyone!
YUK From year to year, is this "the norm" for your area ? 51° here, was out prepping the green house today , might be able to plant in about a week
Some of the roads near this town were closed down by 10 this morning. http://mpcourier.com/article/20140415/DCO/704159685
Its nasty out, no question. Its now snowing quite heavily. Winds are whipping the trees around. A lot of roads closed due to flooding. One of our breakers keeps popping and I fear water entered in at some point. Maybe the spotlight, which ill check tomorrow. Half my damm seed washed away.... will need to reseed and get the hay down asap. Be safe woody, def not out of the woods yet...... get the canoe ready!
Stay safe. I did think about charging the boat battery, I still have time but I'll wait for another day.
Holly chit: Snowing, high winds electrical problems Roads closed Flooding Seed washed out Got to get the hay down Normal day at the farm ? ? Good luck
The Brook is down some this morning but the Raquette River is up, the Brook should be down even more later this afternoon. In pic 8895 you can see the small Island today, you can also see the high water mark on the cement, I'd say it's down about 12 inches.
Good things are lowering. Same here. What we in for next time around. U.S. gonna be known for the world's wickedest weather? Pretty soon once the boat batteries are charged we'll be like, "went out fishing this morning, the lake was like glass, walked home later because the lake froze over" lol
I'll take the water like glass stuff, I'm thinking we'll be burning through the end of April, just more wood.
I have a face cord still that was scheduled for this past heating season. That is about how much oak I stole from next year's supply. I won't be bringing anything in or out of the woods for a bit too let grass grow. Only thing I'll do is walk a saw in and start cutting once it dries up a bit. I just missed a heavy duty wagon with stake sides on CL for 35 bucks. Sucks!
