I cant seem to remember what this thread was about. I guess I will just keep reading the last post until it comes to me.
I have burned about 25 bags so far, but winter is definitely here. We have had (5) storms that put snow on the ground; just enough to track a cat, but yesterday was the first time the snowplow went up the hill. That is a sure sign of winter.
Dumped the last bag of craprans in this morning, Chows to follow. Might go pellet hunting today to see what's what.
LaCrete in the hopper and wow I forgot how well they burn, sure the weekly OCD cleaning of the stove is playing a role but man Spruce burns wicked clean. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
EzBlaze softi's in the hopper. there's some LaCrete and old Blazers deeper that I probably will get to this winter. need to burn the skid in front of Kathryn's car first so the snow blower has more room to get out when needed. prolly need to start on the leaves this week!
I hope you grabbed them at the "two for nine" sale last weekend. My POS US Stove chews them up nice too. The density seems to be getting worse lately though.
You got it. I was at the local TSC store and saw them for 2 / $9 - lowest price I've seen. Then I remembered bogieb mentioned in the past that the lighter colored ones burn well for her. These looked light in color, so I figured what the heck. Grabbed a few bags, and glad I did. This particular batch burns really well, the P68 would be happy to snack on them all winter.
Yeah, the lighter ones burn well (or did in the past). The dark ones are easily the worst I have ever burned.
I've burned about 10 bags of Superior brand marked as "standard" grade and a few of their "premium" or whatever they call them... no diffrence in price or performance. Now I have Hay Creek in the hoppers. These are another local pellet that's a hard/soft blend. They burn nicely and are $205/ton at my lumberyard one mile from the house.
I was thinking the same thing, but I did not want to sound like a idiot for paying more then everyone else. I am glad to know that it is a great deal and not me being an idiot...though I admit I meet that bar about every day!
TSC's bagged MWP's are now in both hoppers. I finally finished up the last of the Inferno's I got a couple of years ago during the fire sales (at 100/ton ). I paid 225/ton for the TSC's since I was able to use 10% off coupons - and that is a great price around here.
