Gorgeous afternoon so we loaded up the dogs, the food and headed out to our spot by the lake. First thing we got a fire going. kettle for water and the tin has potatoes in it. Campinspecter chopping the wood down to size that I gathered. Fire going nicely and wieners were roasted. No pics as we ate them too fast. Slowed down enough to savor our hot potatoes and sour cream along with our hot chocolate and marshmellows. Campinspecter with an audience as he enjoys his potato. My kitchen!!!
No food in these pics but awesome scenery to enjoy with our lunch. thought you would enjoy pics of the wood laying on the beach. Rascal trying to sneak up on the dishes drying in the sun. Cricket is sure that we must have missed something by the fire. Fire almost out and reluctantly we must leave before the sun goes down.
Really great stuff, WW. What a picturesque place you live in. Ya know, my mouth is now watering for a couple hot dogs. I'm serious!
Great pics Hope you're feeling better! Only thing missing was a fishing pole. Don't need to catch fish, just wet a line . LOL Glad you are out cutting wood for fun
Great pics, thanks very much for sharing! My wife comes from Nova Scotia and on our trips back to her home all you see is what you have, Trees!
I hope you made Campinspector do the dishes! My wife has a rule, if I cook I have to do the dishes, if she cooks I have to do the dishes! Gary
Thanks so much for sharing that That's so beautiful. The peacefulness you can't put a price on. I live by the ocean but trying to find a quiet spot is like being down town NYC then yelling "FREE BEER"
You just reminded me of how much I enjoyed camping when I was a kid. Maybe I should try it again sometime.
You are never too old to enjoy camping. Wieners and potatoes by the fire with hot chocolate and marshmallows are always great outdoors. Although to stay overnight in this spot would be hard to get the r-pod down there to sleep in. No more sleeping on the ground for me.
It is certainly a fact that food tastes soooo much better when cooked on the open fire. Maybe a primitive gene we all have inside of us.... I find that coffee made from water out of a spring cooked in a percolator over a fire tastes heavenly...........
