It doesn’t look like the silver maple I’ve processed, which has been tons. Never been into any red maple and it really does not look like tulip poplar. Definitely walnut on the second species pics.
Here’s a close up of the maple in my stacks. Notice the horizontal(to my pics) rays or lines, 90 degress to the growth rings. I see none of that in your pics.
The more I see that first tree and splits, the more it looks like basswood to me. I always use full screen and zoom in on pics to see the details. The second one is clearly black walnut.
I'm seeing Red Maple, I burn a ton of it. That little twig branch growing off the right side of the log in the first pic is so typical of the Red Maple I cut. And I also have Basswood trees, but I'm not going with that.
I stand corrected, after seeing the whole tree, looks like soft maple we have here in the south. Black walnut in the second pic.
